Guest Kindgok Posted February 24, 2001 Posted February 24, 2001 I never understood how Messiah could get away with having that name. I mean, it's taken already. Doesn't anyone remember "21st Century Jesus?" What's next -- psy producers named Altern 8? -- kingdok Quote
Guest squid[at]born-on-a-pirate-ship[d Posted February 25, 2001 Posted February 25, 2001 Messiah - Reincarnation Of The Mysterious Artist: Messiah Title: Reincarnation Of The Mysterious Label: Phantasm Date: 1998 Track listing: 01. Reincarnation Of The Mysterious 02. Drum Of The Temple Review: The first track opens with some freaky effects and melodies, building tension like a vice on your brain. the bass is warm, the percussion smooth, and the transitions graceful. there are two big breaks, both great. an old school classic! drum of the temple has a slow shuffle beat but is very psychedelic. i like some chill music but this just irritates me after a while. the melodic progression is very nice, but the beat becomes too monotonous. this 12" is worth the purchase for the first song. produced by mino. Guest Kindgok Posted February 25, 2001 Posted February 25, 2001 Like the Son of God's going to sue for copyright infringement. On the other hand, if I were Ralph P. Rupert (or whoever runs the Messiah franchise now) I'd be all over that. -- kingdok Quote
Trance2MoveU Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Never heard of this gentleman. The title track is a frenetic bit of scratchy goa that appeals to me. The break is good and it reorganizes for another go. The synth lick in Drums of the Temple is mysterious. See what I did there? But, and call me out on this one, shouldn't a track with drums in the title have a wee bit more than a kick drum? We get some more percussion at the 6 minute mark, but that repetitive synth riff and heavy exhalation wore me out. I'm tired. Mdk Quote
