Guest MG
Just bought it today... if I listened to the whole thing in the sop, I wouldn't have bought it. The 1st track is good, the next two tracks use similiar sounds to each other which in my book is a no-no, & the album is pretty ordinary until Gangstar, which while good, has it's faults. I will give this as a Christmas gift to someone!
Guest [Anonymous]
this album belongs on the europe top40 dance charts.
Guest Psylent Buddhi
A strange mixture of the good and the, errrhmm, less good. The opening track "Reload" is superb; a modern translation of the oldschool full-on style. Splendid. The last track "The Final Swirl" is equally great. I'd like to hear more of that kind of chilled, melancholic, technoish trance from Dado. Liquid Skies is above average as well, but the rest is nothing extraordinary. In conclusion the album is certainly not bad, and it's very obvious that the album in its entirety constitutes a radical reaction to the current psy-tech-trance being released all the time. /Psylent Buddhi
Guest Rabbitakis[at]hotmail[dot]com
As far As i know Reload track has been played all over the world. In the PSY-parties that i listened the track in any remix everybody were jumping and yelling (ta spagan diladh..) personally i like the stuff on this cd but i can say it is a little bit more mellow than other psy-trance music. So if u like minimal or technostuff then you propably dont like much this album ..the others BUY IT OR STEAL IT OR JUST TAKE IT NOOOOOOOOOW!!!! Guest helium
well I like it but don't find it extra-ordinary- good, melodic- beautiful silky synths at times...
Guest helium
Ah no after listening more to it I must say it is rather extra-ordinary- superb production, great mix of old school melodies and sounds with some tastefull new school stuff- very good IMO, like it more and more... Guest Acidhive
Excellent album here from Deedrah (other half of former Transwave, with Absolum making up the other half) Far more diverse than Absolum's album, Deedrah shows us what can be achieved with psytrance. All tracks here absolutely rule, especially Liquid Skies, Reload, Ananda & Purple Unicorn. Ranging from funky, melodic, minimal to technoish, this is one hell of an album and in my simple opinion one of the better artist album's to date!! 9/10 from me ... thumbs up 4 deedrah!! Guest Davidtolsn
ok, first of all i'll say this is a completely different style from self oscillation (which is a good thing). this is much newer sounding, with much more intelligent sound effects and much better melodies. that said, it's still not a good cd. the people who say this cd is bad, it's because half of the tracks are PURE SHIT. the people who say it's phenomenal, it's because some of the tracks are really good. this cd isn't "good" or "bad" it's just hit or miss. if you get it i guarantee you'll regularly skip half the tracks. i don't usually do this, but track by track... (1) awesome, pounding song with a good melody. 9/10 (2) bad song. here dado introduces a really annoying "melodic" sound effect that he uses throughout the cd. i find it very irritating. this is a slow song, much different than the last, and i don't like it much. 2/10 (3) best on the cd. better than the original, even. 10/10 (4) even worse than 2. starts out sounding like it will be nice but the annoying effect comes again, and the melody is horrible and unoriginal. 0/10 (5) another pounding track like track 1, too short though. 9/10 (6) begins with an annoying sample and fairly average throughout. hard to listen to the whole thing. 3/10 (7) i like this song, really psychedelic and an awesome melody. i prefer the gms mix though. 8/10 (8) the annoying effect again, but the song other than that is ok. 7/10 (9) ambient song, nothing special but not bad. 7/10 total: 5.5/
Guest Dr G
A good album from Deedrah. He occasionally uses a very strange jarring synth sound in this album that does not quite match up to the astonishing level of production on offer here, but having said that this is a very enjoyable record on the melodic tip. The tracks are varied in style and feeling, but all of them are good. I recommend it. 7/10 ~*~

Jon Cocco
Deedrah - Reload 2001 Track list: 01. 08'15" Reload - B 02. 07'29" Purple Unicorn - B- 03. 07'58" Land of Freedom (2001 Mix) - A- 04. 06'56" Fireball - C+ 05. 07'47" Far And Away - B / B+ 06. 05'00" Something is Wrong With The Machinery - B 07. 07'16" Gangster - C+ 08. 08'50" Liquid Skies - B+ / A- 09. 07'42" Ananda - B 10. 06'38" The Final Swirl - B- Reload is a huge step up from Deedrah's Self Oscillation debut album. On the debut I was impressed with one track: The Wizard Demo. Several others were cool, but man is Reload ever so much cooler. This album has far more enjoyable songs than the debut. The album coveys much feeling through it's well orchistrated sounds and melodies. Land of Freedom rmx is great for starters. It's nostaligic and one of the best remixes to one of the best goatrance songs of all time. And that songs not the only highlight on this album either. 1. Reload is a solid way to start off the album. Unexpectedly dark and light elements combine to create a swift and driving speed. The song is really good, and the male vocal shout is pretty cool too. It gives the song a boost of energy. I really like this track. 2. Purple Unicorn is a drastic change to more soothing and gentle atmosphere and sounds/melodies. It's upbeat and floating, with some sustained ambient notes over the traveling, peaceful and calm rhythm. 3. Land of Freedom is an awesome/beautiful remix. This is how it's done. Period. 4. Fireball lacks any intro, or what I consider an intro. It jumps into the beat from the very beginning. I really enjoyed Dado's building intros before the sound of this general, more club trance friendly track. It also has a recurring melody that I don't care for, potentially taken from The Matrix movie/trailers. Granted, many artists get creative with already existing sounds, and more could have been done with this song. Fireball doesn't seem to achieve the kickass impression that most of the other songs on this albums establish. And I don't think the title is appropriate for the track either. Dado is far too creative for this "general" formulaic club trance style in my opinion. But the song isn't bad. It's just nothing novel and strong sounding, and the first disappointing number on the album. 5. Far And Away is a return to the beautiful, heavenly melody work I love, previously existent on tracks before Fireball and after the energetic opening. Be patient. The melodies begin around 3:42 and are complimented by a wonderful, euphoric tune in the background. From 4:38 to around 6:00 best showcases this wonderful sound. The song really builds up to greatness before losing the celestial light in the last 1-2 minutes. 6. Something is Wrong With The Machinery tries some different things in the more experimental, potentially Psy/Tech-Trance genre. It's a relatively short and driving song with some interesting ideas in the last third. Well done. 7. Gangster's opening sample "I always wanted to be a gangster.." always sounds awkward to me after hearing the previous, more gentle and imaginative songs that didn't rely on any words or character to distract me from the peaceful world of Dado created throughout much of Reload. The actual song is alright, lots of beats and hi-hats; the melody work is less memorable because no real leading melody is emphasized. I like this song the least next to Fireball. 8. Liquid Skies is beautiful, touching, and surreal. Wonderful warm and peaceful atmosphere and melody work. 9. Ananda is another attractive melody/sound driven song, although not as strong or as memorable as the previous angel. 10. The Final Swirl is a decent chill/trance song. The gentle moments are really nice. In conclusion, this is Dado's best album since the third Transwave album. It's creative, catchy, at times very floating and contemplative, and fun to listen to. It's just not that psychedelic. Favorite tracks: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10. Trance2MoveU
Just a few quick thoughts on the follow up to Dado's classic Self-Oscillation: Reload- I don't see what all the fuss is about. He says 13 years later. Purple Unicorn- This track was so pretty I wanted to kiss it. Land of Freedom (2001 mix)- A nice progressive take on a goa classic. Fireball- What's the direct opposite of a fireball? Well, that's what this is. Far and Away- Pretty good psy that gets screechy. Something is Wrong With The Machinery- It's a poor craftsman that blames his tools. My kid says the same thing when he can't tie his shoes. Pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the laces. Gangster- If I'm Ray Liotta I charter a flight to slap the sh*t out of Dado for this travesty. Liquid Skies- Meh. It's pretty, but what else ya got? Ananda- Sunshine and candy cane progressive. It is impossible to be angry when this comes on. The Final Swirl- I don't remember this one at all. If we're being honest with ourselves this is not as ground breaking and revolutionary as some might have perceived it to be 13 years ago. But that's a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking. 2001 was a dark time not just for psy, but for the world. Trapped in the suffocating blanket of minimalistic depression this must've seemed like the Apple Macintosh commercial from 1984. Look it up on you tube kids. There are not just melodies, but positive melodies. Yet like someone mentioned, this is all over the place. Progressive, psy, techno, minimal...maybe this is one of the shots fired into the dark wall of oppression during those lean years. This was a release that said melodies were ok. After screaming that albums sound samey I'm not about to criticize this one for dipping its toe into a bunch of different genres. But just cause you bounce around doesn't make it a classic. The tracks still have to be good. Mdk
