Guest "double-stacked mitsubishi's"
i haven't listened to it lots yet, but here's the first encounter vibes.....tribal, slightly industrial influenced, bangin' on, darkish, take-your-time-to-get-into-trance, which i haven't had the time so far. so these are my first opinions, i'll write something later when i've had my fair share of listening. Guest strou[at]mail[dot]tele[dot]dk
V/A - Resurrection Artist: Various Title: Resurrection Label: Optimus Date: 1999 Track listing: 01. 09'32" Chakra Feat Liquid Metal : Resurrection 02. 05'33" Three Point Turn : By Any Means Necessary 03. 09'14" Liquid Metal Feat Chakra : Search for God 04. 07'12" Screec : Tribal Emphasis 05. 08'06" Eon Project : Intra Natural Power 06. 08'33" Reefer Decree : O Tonin 07. 05'42" Dandandado : El Cateto 08. 10'16" Chakra : Deliverance Review: Wow, this album kicks butt. Lots of tribal influence makes this album the perfect party album. I heard some of these tracks being played by Frank 'E from Koxbox and it was one of the best parties I've ever been too. People just ran amok. My personal favorites are tracks 3, 5, 6 and 7. The collaboration between Chakra and Liquid Metal works out really well and "Search For God" is one of my alltime favorites. It's a little weird cause it's the first track by Chakra that I really like. Overall the cd is a must....go get it. Most say that I'm already looking forward to the next Optimus release. Keep up the good work guys.
Guest AtomikElf
well, they take their "winning tune/melody" (take that sarcasticly) and use it over and over again in order to "make" the song. now that is very unfortunate 'coz it sounds so crap, repetitive and boring. i lasted through the first song GRUDGINGLY and took out the cd after the second song.....since then i have given it a few tries, but it just doesn't work for me. i would not recommend this to anyone.......4/
Guest "double-stacked mitsubishi's"
i don't like it. it's one of those "bad buys" that i make every so often. i've given it a few attempts and no success. i don't know what all the hype is about "search for god" - i guess if you're tripping it'll put your mind on an eternal quest, make u go lie down somewhere and have a fruitless conversation with god until u start coming down and start rejoicing. song 7 is really shitty - with an ultra-shitty sample. all the songs seem to be constructed from using the same "melodies/sounds" throughout, then dropping them off, and bringing them back and that's supposed to make the song cool?!?!? it lacks the depth i'm looking for. listening to this kinda music makes me think of being an israeli soldier in an israeli army base, bored as hell, smoking my one cigarette i've been saving listening to this "new cd resurrection" - and it's actually quite sad ;-( oh well, better luck next time rami.....4/
freak51
Nice as a bridge between happy hardcore and trance, not that I'd admit to playing hardcore [hardcore is like a Vespa: it's fun until your friends see you]. However, the most appropriate sample comes about 5 minutes into El Canteto: "Yo, turn that shit off and put on the next record". Not bad in a short burst. Oh yeah, "double-stacked mitsubishis", nice review - wish I'd thought of it!
Guest Kvin2000
Most people that wrote the reviews before me didn't like this one at all. I guess everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I have to disagree with my friends above. I simply love this comp. I think it is very varied and not for everyones' taste. I do agree that there are two different distinct themes on this comp (some tracks are a bit gothic sounding while others are purely tribal) and the mix between them sometimes sounds odd. morever, I have to agree that the track 1 and 3 do sound similar (even though track 3 has more tribal influences .BUT...track 1 and 3 are awsome dispite their similarity, track 2 is a nice (but short) procussion track, track 4 is very tribal and the shamen chunting just hypnotise the listener, track 5 and 6 are pure jewels and track 8 us pretty good too. Only track 7 falls behind (a really SHITTY track). Overall, I like this one very much.
