Most of these tracks here will probably be known even by those who listened to the little more comercial trance back in the old days (as I did). However, the only track that wasn't new to me is the one from Blue Planet Corp., which seems to me like a hybrid of Goa trance and Club trance, just like their later stuff. This track is somewhat weak in comparison to their album but still pretty good for its age. The 'hybrid' thingie also applies for the Overlords track, the Dance 2 Trance track and Genetic's well-known 'Trancemission'. Tracks 5 and 6 are nice old Eye Q stuff. The track by X-Dream doesn't work somehow, they made much better tunes back then. Best tracks on this compi are Juno Reactor's still fresh sounding 'High Energy Protons', the funky Eat Static track and of course Simon's track. This version of 'Solstice' is a different one than the album version though, it is slower but some of the main melodies can still be heard. It also contains a quite hilarious sample ;-) I've heard that this one is the actual original version. Altogether an OK compilation.
