Guest Acidhive
Ololiuqui - Reverse Engineering Artist: Ololiuqui Title: Reverse Engineering Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Feel 02. Reverse Engineering 03. Honk 04. I Can See 05. Restarter 06. Concepi 07. Chunks 08. The Deep 09. Beautiful Review: Beautiful album from Ololiuqui here. If you're into his funky, dreamy kind of psytrance, then you're in for a great ride along these landscapes that he's created. From the completely funky and lovable Feel you know that you're in for a treat, and what a treat this is, indeed. With great precision, and thought out patterns and layers of sounds on top of each other, this is one good album. I was always interested in the style of this artist, but somehow I never could get a hold of his older work. But when I saw this one on psyshop, and listened to the previews of the tracks, I knew I'd like this. And now, having listened to it a couple of times I must say this is just really good! An excellent way to forget the somewhat less DJ Sangeet effort, Spirit Zone is right back on track with this release. A lot of people are probably gonna shoot me for giving this the mark I'm gonna give it, but hey, I just happen to like this style!! Wonderfully playful, funky and melodic from track 1 to track 9 (9 is more ambient like, with vocoder samples), that's Ololiuqui! Right on... 9/10 here!! DeathPosture
Yeah, this album deserves more credit than it got... It was released in the midst of a minimal craze, but it sure has its moments... From the hardhitting techno intro tracks, to the lighter, more melodic pieces... Not a masterpiece, but nice nevertheless.

Trunksan
Except for the first track all the others are very nice, not very memorable, but very enjoyable. Could easily be played in a "commercial" prog or trance even and it'd be the best muic played there! 8/
Basilisk
I thought it was all right... but that's mainly because I really like the Ololiuqui sound.
