Guest Ubik Posted March 2, 2000 Posted March 2, 2000 Biot - Saturation Artist: Biot Title: Saturation Label: BTM Date: 1998 Track listing: 01. 05'05" Ignition 02. 05'21" Interzone 03. 06'52" Visions Of Tycho 04. 06'21" Actinuria 05. 07'31" Supercollider 06. 06'33" Plastronix 07. 06'39" Radiation 08. 07'01" Oxgen Orgasm 09. 07'22" Sol Stream 10. 07'22" Vortex Tribe 11. 08'11" Emphasis Review: Wow ! Great debut album ! It does not sound as complex as other goa albums, but it really works ! Each sound is perfectly employed and the majority of samples are original (Wonderful voice samples in Oxygen Orgasm and Vortex Tribe). The different tracks are not linked together, but it doesn't matter. All tracks are perfect. My favourites are Oxygen Orgasm, a happy track, very uplifting, Plastronix, Radiation, Vortex Tribe... 8.5/10 Quote
Guest Tequila Posted March 2, 2000 Posted March 2, 2000 One of the best albums I own!!Really!Quiet original, we can say that Biot has its own style. All the tracks are excellent, but my favorite is Oxygen Orgasm, and then Radiation.Beware, this album requires a certain number of listens so as to be appreciated to its own value.8.5/10 Quote
Guest Anti-minimal Posted March 7, 2000 Posted March 7, 2000 Minimal-if you like minimal indulge otherwise forget it Quote
Children Posted March 16, 2000 Posted March 16, 2000 I think that's a pretty good album ... don't think there's any Bad Tracks (maybe 3 which is a little too repetitive), and my favourites are Tracks 2 and 7 :-) An album you can listen to in its entirety without being bored, but it's difficult to remember from which Track comes a particular sound ... don't know why ... Rating : 5.5/10 Quote
freak51 Posted March 27, 2000 Posted March 27, 2000 Nice. What robots would listen to on their off hours. Good crisp execution, never too many sounds at once. One of the best releases of 1998 IMHO. Quote
tbe Posted November 2, 2000 Posted November 2, 2000 Not as good as said....all thoses tracks are so simple, looks like Nitendo music...Listen to the whole album is nearly impossible...if you want to discover Biot music you should listen to his second album (Synthetic Organic) which is much more better. Guest dj_avion[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted November 7, 2000 Posted November 7, 2000 Oxygen Orgasm is one of those rare and amazing powerful tracks that never loses its effect. Good album, worth bying for Oxygen Orgasm alone. Quote
Guest Diepeveen Posted February 16, 2001 Posted February 16, 2001 I must say that this album is much better than Biot's second! Not to many melodies, but not boring... I like it... - Good Minimal Quote
Guest djemptyx[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted May 26, 2001 Posted May 26, 2001 Biot "Saturation" is a must-own for those who would embrace the fringes of minimal trance music. I've no regrets on this one. Please mail me if you can turn me onto something good. Im not afraid to enjoy music away from the parties. Quote
Guest biot is not goa, biot is not tra Posted October 15, 2001 Posted October 15, 2001 it's not mimimal !! I love his very own style. You cant compare the style of this album with others ! It's impossible......... Forget his second album its really boring THIS ONE RULES ! Quote
Guest daniel[at]icpnet[dot]pl Posted November 9, 2001 Posted November 9, 2001 Very nice one here by Biot. Inventive, mostly dark but not heavy, well-thought and harmonic. Some boring trax (1,3) but the rest is perfectly balanced. Favourites: 4,5,7,8,11. (8/10) Quote
Jon Cocco Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Oh I like this one. Some songs have that slower more chill goatrance/ambient feel. Quote
seraph Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I've just realised I haven't posted any comment for this album...sheesh. This album is so unsual for goa trance, it is almost experimental. The production is not that crispy, but the melodies he is using and psychedelic effects are so good. What a shame this guy hasn't released more stuff coz this album is in the end very good. Lots of unusual twists in the tracks and strange arrangements of sounds. I love it. It is by far the most unusal experiemental goa trance album. RADIATION, OXYGEN ORGASM, SOL STREAM, IGNITION are my favourites. 8/10 Quote

But actually he has released a follow up which is pretty nice imo, very atmospheric and arranged like a journey. Production quality is better as on the Saturation album, too. Plus he has a sideproject called "Sonic Body" under which he released a groovy and more relaxed album. Quote

But of course, when I don't have that album, but only one single from it. I have to go and look for it. Quote
sunwolf Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 This is better than his second album.... I wouldn't say it's minimal, but the tracks are lacking depth. Better than being full of layers that add nothing just for the sake of not being minimal. Decent stuff. 5/10 Quote
Trance2MoveU Posted February 5, 2022 Posted February 5, 2022 This is a bit of a weird one. It's rough and raw, without lush melodies, but dark and atmospheric. Fully psychedelic. The first shot across the goa bow comes during Plastronix and its liquidity is delicious. I certainly wouldn't call this minimal. Far from it. There is a heavy techno influence throughout the album which was common on the back side of the golden age of goa trance. Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination, but a pretty good tech-trance/goa album. Quote
