Review:

 

A very solid collection of Remixes of the song Schaukelstuhl (Rocking Chair) by

Shiva Chandra. One mix is a complete waste of vynil( SBK Mix 2/10), but the

rest are all very good. My favourite is the Auricular RMX. It has cool vocal

sample, phat rolling bassline and that cool sample of the screeching Rocking

Chair (8.5/10). The Haldolium mix cool, too, it doesnt really have anythinbg

to do with the original, but its still a good song. It is very morning

oriented and it doesnt use Haldolium's standard evil sounds, just a "effected"

guitar and a driving bassline.7.5/10 for this one. The Bitmonx RMX is good,

but nothing like their other stompers such as Undo or Erdbeer Kiwi. I expected

more from them, but still pretty good, 7/10.

the auricular rmx is the perfect interpetetion for this hit track,its so

sharp&edgy[btw:excuse my spelling].for the auricular rmx i give10/10...for the

rest6/10.....

but this is my opinion

A mediocre release in my opinion. Of four mixes, none really improve or expand

much upon the original. What then becomes the point of remixing? Oh that's

right, it's to sell four substandard tracks on a 2x12" LP and charge $20 for

it. So I guess this deserves a 10/10 for the rip-off marketing stategy (from

a Spirit Zone perspective at least), and a 4/10 for the music.

No, the Auricular remix really made it better, after listening to it for a

while I adjust my grade to 9/10.
