Guest PsychedelicGav
Deedrah - Self Oscillation Artist: Deedrah Title: Self Oscillation Label: Questionmark Date: 1997 Track listing: 01. 07'23" Self Oscillation 02. 06'29" Blissfull Blonde 03. 01'39" Essential 04. 08'30" Japonicus Delphinus 05. 07'18" The Wizard Demo 06. 07'51" Christiana High Life 07. 07'26" Funkybootik 08. 05'58" Alien Dick 09. 09'39" Warheads 10. 07'45" Lion Blue? Review: Well varied album - not one I listen to so often, but at times, it?s nice to dig it out and enjoy the different styles on offer. This is a strange album - very cleverly done which takes you a journey. Not perhaps the most full power of albums but the way in which it?s done works well. Personally, I think I preferred the sounds of Transwave but the odd Deedrah track works well in the right place. Contains some interesting tracks and ideas but far from essential
Children
Sorry but for me this is the WORST Goa album I've ever heard ! If you're french, don't buy it, cause you'll understand the french voices, which are completely stupid (they have been taken from extracts of french version movies, and the sentences, particularly in Wizard Demo, are ridiculous ... nothing to do with a Goa Track ... sorry) ! Track 1 is interesting, Track 3 started well (but is too short), but other Tracks sound always the same and are boring ... really bad work !!! If you want to listen to some Dado good work, buy a Transwave album, NOT THIS ONE !!! Rating : 1/
Guest a_laine[at]yahoo[dot]com
I disagree!I think this album is good, with lots of different sounds and styles in it.This is actually one of my favourite albums.Only track 7 is a miss. Guest Infected Max
I fuckin disagree too!!!! This album is so fresh...everybody is fucked up about shiva And indian references in tracks...I thanks dado to have the idea to put others samples..Those are taken from a Belgium movie called "C'est arrivé près de chez vous" And they are fuckin funny... I think there's no rules in music And every artists don't have to force himself to put religious shiva samples to produce good trance..lot of artists do that!!! Dado is the most innovative guy in Trance!!
Guest Rough and Rush
Its bollox, lacks detail, no hard bits that Deedrah is synonomus for and at times cheesy. There are far better albums to buy.
Guest triffidz[at]hotmail[dot]com
No way! This is a very clever and subtle album. What's with the necessity to overuse Indian references and all that? That "Goa" scene is old, gone, used up. Psytrance involves much more, and this record delivers. Alien Dick, Warheads and Lion Blue? are absolutely mad, the others are less pumping but very well produced. Dado - you rock.
DeathPosture
Transwave really DID/DO IT for me, and this solo-project from Frédéric Holyszewski is fairly good, but in no sense a masterpiece... I like the variation in this album, and I'll give it 6/10 Bom shankar!
Guest pierre_skoogh[at]hotmail[dot]com
This album just rokkz!! 9/10 - No doubt about that!!
Jeto
This album has to be a GREAT album... Diffrent variations and a nice touch to it.. 8/
Guest grem[at]grem[dot]de
I think it's a very cool album, 9/10. It's the perfect style to get lost in emotion while listening.. ok, I don't understand the french samples... maybe they're stupid.. but so what... most lyrics are stupid
Guest [Anonymous]
Pretty cool album, with great and powerful rythms and sounds ( I like rythm's Deedrah and Transwave so much ! )...but all this stuff is not melodic enough for me. The french vocals don't disturb me ( and I'm french...) KarcarmaN
Guest http://mp3.com/e-phaze
This is a genius album! You hear that dado is tryin to evolve the goa scene! He is one of those guys that have inspired me for making my own music!! But i still think Transwave are lot better. But someone has to break the boundaries, create new fresh stuff, not the same old stuff all the time. 7/10! cheers,
karcarman
iiiiiI finally bought it...and I must say that there is nothing in this oscillation : I was wrong. No melody, no innovation...I hate this album, and also the compil' 'analogique', same kind of...stuff. Sorry for Dado but his tracks can't be compared to Transwave. 0.5/
Guest simon magus
This is one of the best albums ever! You must all be insane! I guess you're all old-skool goa people who listen to Astral Projection and MFG all day. Cause Deedrah kicks a** almost as much as Hallucinogen. Eat acid and listen to this at a decent volume. I think many Deedrah tracks are better than Transwave.. such as Warheads, Self Oscillation and Alien Dick. And their one-offs are even better. Guest tammobuss[at]hotmail[dot]com
Generally ok/good, but I love Christania High Life. It's awesome cause it's hilarious.
Jon Cocco
Seriously, if you think this is Goa, I strongly advise that you stop smoking the crack and wake up to the real world. When I first heard Deedrah, it was in bits and pieces, so I never actually paid attention to how boring and monotonous this cd really was. Finally, I listened to the whole cd and realized this is the equivalence of techno music. The only track that you can refer to as Goa, is the outdated Wizard Demo. I've read reviews where several people claimed that Alien Dick was mind blowing. Alien Dick is just a bunch of fast, hard beats mixed on top of one another. I will not even discuss the other tracks, why bring anymore attention to a piece of shit. SCORE= 0.0001 out of 10. This cd is platinum if your deaf. Guest laurent.moussault[at]laposte[dot
A really great album, with many different styles and still consistant. It has almost no melody so some people may find it boring, however the sounds are crazy and beautiful, and the rythms are nicely shaped (and "broken" at the right place). Quite disturbing music (see comments above and joyful at the same time!
Guest vernon sullivan
I think it's funny how whenever someone thinks an album/track is boring they say it's techno =) just like to let you know that for some of us at least, "techno" is not synonymous with "boring"... Guest PzionIc[at]postmark[dot]net
The Wizard Demo is one of my alltime favourite songs and you can label the music whatever you like, but that's one hell of a song when you're kicking it.
