Guest LSD[at]hotmail[dot]com
The Dark Side of the Moon of electronic music. Pure 100% talent and execution. Rumor has it that a new Shpongle album should be released next month (march '01). keeping fingers crossed. `sativa
Guest ZARAKNON
This is a true masterpiece and must be the trippiest ambient album ever made. There are many attributes to describe the great feeling when you listen to it, I'll try it with: peaceful(fantastic flute melodies), epic, magical - there's such an incredible magic in the tracks - and most of all psychedelic. My favourites are Vapour Rumours with its marvellous alien sound effects & Behind Closed Eyelids(which contains 4/4 beat in most parts), both with beautiful soothing melodies....And The Day Turned To Night is also excellent, I understand why Simon was so pleased with this. Also love Shpongle Spores, Shpongle Falls and Divine Moments Of Truth, very original tune, the singing in this one is just soooo weird, Monster Hit is also great but I don't really like the female vocals in it. As you see, all the tracks are real masterpieces. This is a circular vortex and essential for everyone who likes psychedelic ambient.10/
Guest rx7style
I have been listening to this album for about 6 or 7 months now, and I must say, it's absolutely brilliant. I've been listening to electronic music since 1989, and have ingested about 600 albums, and many singles. From what I have observed, this is the epiphany of musical creation. Everything about this album is pure perfection. The quality, the technicality, and the experience leaves every other album I have heard in the dust. Not only does this album tell a complete story, but you are a part of it, and experience the whole album. This is not just music to listen to, it envelopes you and takes control of your mind... throwing you into a freelance journey through the fabric of space and time. Such beautiful harmoines, so many complex interweaving layers of extreme bliss. Incredibly complex rhythms, seemingly impossible effects, and various other goodies top the package. The key is to listen to this album on a system that has supreme sound reproduction capabilities. My system: Anthem Pre 2L [Pre Amp] Anthem Power 1 [Main Amp] Anthem CD 1 [CD Player] Totem Mani-C2 [Loudspeakers] MIT Oracle V4 [speaker Cable] Cardas Golden Reference [interconnects] The whole room fills with the immaculate sounds of this album and puts you in a sphere of musical harmony. You MUST purchase this album. You MUST listen to it on as good a system as you can find [headphones are the best trick if this is not available]. I would have paid as much money as it took to have this album, and I suggest that anyone who appreciates music should listen. My only hope is that they release another album... I would die of exstacy if they did. This album fills many voids in my life, and has given me a new sense of purpose. Am I crazy? No, just listen to the album and you'll understand. ** WARNING ** Do not use drugs and listen to this album. Besides the fact that drugs are bad *wink*, the experience might be just too intense to handle!!! BUY BUY BUY! BEST ALBUM EVER!! GET IT NOW! 219882/
Guest eden.solaris
Like the other peolpe before me said: GREAT!!! But dont expect any big fat beats that'll make you dance here... This is a trip into dreamland!!! So, is it better or worse than "Mystical experiences"? Well, you can see that Simon's style has become more mature, but it's no longer a trip in the far east!!! Now, it's a trip through music: goa, dub, trip-hop and ethnical music are wonderfully mixed to form what is one of the greatest masterpieces the human ear has ever listened to!!!!! (although I did enjoy the far east trip in "Mystical experiences"...) 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/

Guest acca[at]fiberia[dot]com
Don't forget to check this out: The most unnoticable transition from 4/4 to 3/4 meter and BACK again I have ever heard (DMT track 6), and a most awesome 7/8(?) type meter that does not even sound out of place! What brilliant music. 10^10/

Slyne
I don't really think one more review could be any useful here, but I'm in my lyrical mood today. Like many people I guess I discovered Posford with Twisted. But the sound man, the sooouunnd! No Hallucinogen album has ever sounded like that. I wonder how he achieved such a brilliant yet profound production. The songs themselves do not reek with ideas and I am not sure I could differentiate them all, but does that matter? Just do this: close your eyelids and savour. This is Music like Wine...

Guest electremical[at]cs[dot]com
'Are You Shpongled?' is the most beautiful experience you will encounter in this world, outside of entheogenic epiphanies. It is tribal, ecstatic with awareness, beyond any and all barriers, and invokes the sense of purest ecstacy. 'Tales of the Inexpressible' is a whole other angle of Shpongle, but again expands your mind and sends it to transcendental states. It is joyful, playful, uninhibited to unsanity, and tints your trip with those cheerful tykes who have learned "A New Way To Say Hooray". I'm very happy. -=)
Guest Sub-Noize
This cd is the best cd i have ever heard in my entire existence. It is 78 minutes of pure heavenly bliss. This is THE psychadelic experience. If you haven't heard this, you are missing our greatly. All stores worldwide should carry this cd and the next, The tales of the inexplisseble. Tatsu
This is the first psy ambient cd I bought so I'm not used to this kind of music. The first time I listened to it I thougt: "Well, it's kinda nice but why there's all that hype around shpongle!?" (don't get mad at me, just read on...). Then I listened to it again and it hit me: THIS IS GREAT! All the arrangements, the melodies, the voices, the samples, THE FLUTE.... Now I understand why people hype... This is so beautiful, it drives tears in my eyes sometimes.
Guest Swede Indeed
After reading these reviews I started to look around for it but it was not to be found anywere. So, one day I saw it in a store and throwed myself over it and kissed it (I had heard Behind closed eyelids before). This rules! Every track is so beautiful and dreamy. Rythms changing from 12/8 to 3/4 back to 12/8 and then to 4/4 (DMT). Wow! And those flute melodies, expecially that one in Vapour rumours at 5:30 and 7:40...Best tracks are 3,5,6 and 7 (Really nice 7/8 beat). The only thing that disturbes me is all the "L S Deedoodee M T, I love them bothie bothie". Isn't that a bit corny? But the voices are beautiful so what the heck, this is THE master piece and Simons best work what I have heard. A no doubt 1000/1000
Guest donna_b[at]hotmail[dot]com
My favorite CD in the world, I can't stop listening to it and neither can all my friends!
