Spicy Moments, first album of Shiva Chandra, is by far the best of the three albums made by Shiva Chandra ! This album is very varied, and there are huge differences in style and tempo between the tracks. But everything fits perfectly with the rest. Of course all tracks are linked together and that makes Spicy Moments an album really enjoyable to listen in one time. My 2 personal favourites are Aqua, which has some kind of israeli melody, and Icecream Truck, which is really weird, but every "real" tracks (more than 3 minutes) are great. 8/
Guest Tequila
Good album! And probably the best one from Shiva Shandra.Good point: The trax are very different the ones from the others, the music is rich, and the melodies remain in your head for a long time. bad points: the trax 1,6,10,11,14 are really too short, and not that interesting to be listened to. best tracks: Aqua and caraman 8/
Anoebis
Good CD by Shiva Chandra!! All songs are véry different from eachother and this album is a nice trip trough all kinds of Psychedelic music... Unfortunately the Ambient songs are too short, but I think that's because he only wanted to use them as break between the normal songs!! Best songs are 1,5,8,9 And 12!! And from the Ambient songs I like SPQR. véry much, I know it's véry short, but I like that sitar in it!! )) This CD gets an 8,5/10 from me!! Guest fheierli[at]mails[dot]ch
In my opinion the second best album by Shiva Chandra (after Positive). I like, that it have some nice ambient tunes (and i like ambient a lot). But the goa-tracks are very good too, with nice melodies. It's also good, that the album is non-stop-mixed from beginning to the end. My favourite tracks are 3,7,11 and 12. Rating: 8/

Guest Joemrmeat[at]hotmail[dot]com
I think this is a good album for 1996. But the traxs sould had been better without "tb 303"!! I like Shiva Chandra very much, But not the tb 303 ! Ambient traxs are better than the others ones...(all because of High 303 sounds)!! Yuck, listen too much ACID TECHNO give me a prejudice against tb 303!!
Guest yohello
About the album: its great, all songs are very good (especially 4 5 8 and 9). Imo one of the best goa albums ever!
Guest Davidtolsn
average at best. perhaps i was bias, i had heard the later shiva chandra minimal stuff and really liked it. but this is just... bad, usually. very "flat" sounding. aqua is pretty good, and although most of the tracks are listenable, that's all they are. and i don't like all the short intermission filler tracks either. oh yeah, and for people who actually like the tb 303 (like me), don't be fooled by the review above, there are no good 303 sounds on this cd. far from acid techno, unfortunately. 5/
Trance2MoveU
Artist: Shiva Chandra Title: Spicy Moments Label: Spirit Zone Recordings Date: 1996 01. 03'36" Milk Bar02. 08'50" Train Ticket03. 06'27" Chandra04. 06'37" Shaktivalha05. 08'16" Aqua06. 01'08" Electro Frog07. 07'06" Electron Seeds08. 05'44" Icecream Truck09. 06'49" Caraman10. 01'42" Cosmic Vibration11. 02'34" SPQR12. 07'09" Safety Space13. 05'41" In Sense14. 03'04" Chili Out one of the best goa albums ever! Ok let's all settle down. Hyperbole won't help anyone. This is like saying that 98 Degrees is the best boy band ever! When we all know it's N'SYNC. *Smooches!* This is my first experience with Shiva Chandra and Daniel Vernunft has crafted a solid album. Don't know why I thought all he produced was minimal, but this is definitely not that. Like others have said it's not the layer heavy uplifting melodic goa trance, but it's solid in its own right. The sounds are all there and no it doesn't blow the door down with its power, but it does hypnotize. There are numerous twirling opportunities in tracks like Train Ticket and Aqua. The chill moments provided are nice and relaxing. Being partially mixed makes it a fluid, enjoyable journey. It won't be the first thing I reach for, but when I'm in the mood for laid back goa it will certainly do. Correction: Caraman is pretty f*cking powerful. Oopie
This album is like no else... fantastic journey-esque ride with really different sounding tracks yet remaining coherent through-out. Everything after this by SC is very different - this one is pure goa accompanied by great slow-tempo numbers. Very much recommended.
