Mergi
Human Blue - Spiritualizer / Chronic Sphere Artist: Human Blue Title: Spiritualizer / Chronic Sphere Label: Microgram Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. Spiritualizer 02. Chronic Sphere Review: I was expected either some intense psychedelic tunes or some wicked morning tunes like the Carpe Diem 12", but instead there was something totally different in this EP. Dag Wallin delivers one psycho minimal tune and it's actually damn good after a few times of replay IMO. Spiritualizer follows the usual structure Mr Blue has in his tracks, one giant build up with some breaks and an effectful climax in the end. At first it sounds annoyingly empty with few effects rebounding throughout, but after awhile it gets filled up with some groovy precussion and tribal beats... 9/10. Chronic Sphere is slower and somewhat psychill. It's not a very good IMO, some of the sounds are actually quite dull, and it stays pretty much the same throughout the whole track... 5/
Guest Mescalinium
A decent 12" from Human Blue here, but of his last 3 singles, this is probably the weakest. Spiritualizer is energetic enough, with some nifty tribal arrangements and efx. I like how he's experimenting with different styles after the melodic-cheese grossout of his last album, but there are many other artists who already do this kind of thing better. Chronic Sphere sounds like one of those album-ending chill pieces from 3 or 4 years back, although that's not necessarily a bad thing. Nice melodies and sounds, although as Mergi already mentioned, not much progression. 6/
Guest Seismix
I dont like this ep. For me is to boring and to minimalistic. This progressive trance should be more effective in spiritualizer than only at the final of the track. In the chronic sphere is better situation i think. Clean bassline and the synths in background makes the track more space'd and fills him completely. Anyway the track is not powerfull and its remember me a manmademan/switch EP which is monotonous with non sharped samples. EP 6/
