Guest tokyokid
INFECTED MUSHROOM BERRY SAKHAROF birthday Infected Mushroom is Israel’s biggest act of Psychedelic Trance, Formed 1996 by Amit Duvdevani and Erez Aizen. Releasing 3 successful albums (two of them reaching the status of gold albums), Dozends of tracks on international compilations and performing live all over the world, Infected Mushroom have always been exploring the field of “Freestyled Electronica” And it was just a matter of time until this leading group will find itself involved in a more “mainstream” genre. Berry Sakharof is today one of the most respected and successful artist in Israel. In 1980 he established the legendary Israeli group – Minimal Compact, Which were quite prolific throughout the ‘80s, Releasing over six LP’s worth of tasteful, elegant art pop and dance-rock in Belgium, Where they signed with the Belgian label Crammed Discs, Over the past 20 years he release 5 artist albums, Produced records for dozens of Israeli groups and singers, and performing live hundreds of times in Israel and around the globe. On June 20th, 2002, over 3000 people gathered to witness a first of its kind collaboration. The best rock artist in Israel joined forces with the most popular electronic act in Israel To bring forth an impressive show of Electronic Rock! This event was so successful, that it was immediately decided to produce a CD single That will capture the magic of this team up and hopefully will stimulate more projects of this kind. The single features three tracks: 1. Berry Sakharof – Birthday (Infected Mushroom remix) 2. Infected Mushroom feat. Berry Sakharof – Statik’ Dancin’ (cover version) 3. Infected Mushroom feat. shpongled
I was deeply disturbed when I heard Statik Dancin... ;P
Guest Elysium Project
My problem with this release (Berry and Infected) is that I do not know who Berry is and I don't really care who he is :-)) and the fact that their release only is interesting for people in Israel who like Berry (who is this guy anyway?). I don't understand the hebrew singing anyway. A part from that tehe release is quite boring in my mind and sound like a attemp to please the masses. This is to me not an honest way of making music. I don't care if music is commercial or not but I resent artists selling out to please their pockets.

Guest Jonathan
All I can say Elysium is give it another listen. Other then Statik Dancing the other tracks on this single are very good. At least Infected are trying to do something original. I consider it 5 dollars well spent. BTW Barry Saharof is one of the greatest musicians in the short history of Israel. Try to put your hatred of Israel away for 15 minutus while you listen to this.
Guest Elysium Project
I have given it a listen and it's just not my cup of tea... Anyway I've never been into Infected in the first place. Jonathan it's got nothing to do with hatred against israel. Come on my new album is getting released on a isralie label with some very good jewish frinds of mine. That's just too cheap a statement from you. All I am saying is that it to me seem like a sell out. I have nothing against commercial music as long teh artists are honest about their music but in this case (and yes I could be wrong) I find it a bit too obvious that they are seeing dollar signs in their eyes rather than going for a honest artistic approach. And I do believe that most people in this scene (a part form Israel) don't really care to listen to Berry sing in Hebrew.
Otto Matta
EP - I highly doubt these guys got together and said, "Lets make some crap music so we can make some money." I'd give them a little more credit than that, or more benefit of the doubt. What if they were just trying to have some fun, without taking life so seriously or cynically? It could happen. shpongled
Elysium... if Infected guys likes music like Dream Theatre (prog rock with hectic male vocals) and they have tried to include their own vocals in their music also before then I would think they were pretty excited to work with Israel's best(?) rock/pop singer. Just quessing...
Guest Elysium Project
Well let them do their things...never said they shouldn't....I just don't find it very exciting and frankly I don't think that many people outside Israel will buy it...just my opinion..nothing else but be honest now, it's not really a release with an international appeal. shpongled
Ok.... I didn't like it either..................... but I was just commenting to "honest music making" thing you said.
Otto Matta
EP - If it doesn't have international appeal, how can it be made to "please the masses?" Keep in mind that you accused them of selling out, not just that you didn't like it. Be careful with your language or someone's going to think you're envious. Guest Elysium Project
EA seriously take a look of what youre saying. Why should I be envious? I have my style they have theirs and you can be sure that I would never ever try to sound like them or be envious because they sell more CD's than me. To me my music has much more to do with what I like and burn for. Not if I am famous or making more money ect. I just can't take your comment seriously - sorry. I meant that they were pleasing the masses in Israel and yes I do see them as a sell out but then again I have always seen them that way. Nothing new about that. Guest nowhere
you never agree anybody dont you EP? just wonder im not against you...
Guest m
I'm taking Elysium's side on this one. IM has always seemed to me like their money means more than their music. Kinda of sad, but I'm sure they know it too, but are laughing on their way to the bank.
Guest Elysium Project
nowhere it's got nothing to do with agreeing with people or not. I agree and disagree with many of my friends and some in this forum too. The thing is that it's so easy to say that an artist is envious if he or she say anything slighty negative about another band/artist. Otto Matta
Your words were a little strong for an EP, EP, that's all. I've never heard you trash an act before, but you had to trash the second biggest act after Posford. Sounds like resentment, and resentment doesn't come from nowhere. When IM starts making house music, then we can start talking about them selling out, or getting old and soft. Until then a cozy little EP with Hebrew lyrics isn't hurting any of you. I'm not a huge fan of theirs - I only like two or three of their tracks - but I respect their flair for originality. And I don't enjoy people picking on those who are trying to expand themselves or have some fun.
Guest chong
interesting tempers EA - whats wrong with house music? there are some great artists making house, and I'd hardly call em a sell-out!
Basilisk
IM are coming to toronto in a month... they have a one hour live show at the biggest club in the city right after bad boy bill and before a 3 hour set by armin van buuren... now what's with that?! there has to be balance in the system... artists should be able to do as they please (and one thing IM has always stated in interviews is a desire to do music for hollywood movies, or stuff with lyrics)... but also, the public should be able to react to what the artists are doing and where they are going. Otto Matta
chong - I didn't mean that people who make house music are sellouts. I meant that if a psychedelic act like IM started making house music, then I'd consider them a sellout. What I mean by that is that psy music is made for both dancing and listening, whereas house music is made almost entirely for dancing. There's a very different creative philosophy there. Guest chong
i listen to some house music at home and i dont often dance around the place...i think we r thinking of different houses...there is various types of house music...deep house, happy house and the rest........some of it is very involving not just to dance to.
