I only have Blue Planet too but I've been told the other too albums were of poor quality!! This CD is also harder as his other CD's!! Best songs are 2,4,5,8 and the song that's awesome here is number 9... I really like that Trance-part!! Bom Shankar Quote
Guest Ubik Posted May 5, 2000 Posted May 5, 2000 Most trax on this album are good, but the problem is that all trax are too similar, and trax themselves are a little repetitive, so it can be pretty boring to listen to the whole album at the same time... Overall, average album 6/10. Quote
Guest djonanis[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted May 11, 2000 Posted May 11, 2000 I think this is a master piece. Boris really kicked with this one. tracks 4 and 6 are hallucinating... I think this album was made for listening it complete. It is a real trip to other galaxie to find other forms of life or maybe an alien encounter! 9.5/10 Quote
Children Posted October 11, 2000 Posted October 11, 2000 Pretty Good Album ! My favourites are Tracks 1,10 And particularly 3,9 ! The problem is that some Tracks here are a little boring (Tracks 4,5,7,8&11) ? this album is probably the most psychedelic one from Electric Universe ? and the 2nd best album, at this date, from Boris after "Blue Planet" ? Rating : 6/10 Quote
Guest heierli[at]library.ethz[dot]ch Posted June 13, 2001 Posted June 13, 2001 Nobody likes Alien Encounter 1? I like it a lot, more than AE 2. But it's right that Stardiver is the best CD from EU. The new Album Divine Design is shit (boring Trance, only the Ambient-Tracks are good). But this CD is really good goa (good mixed). My favourite tracks are 4,5,6,8,9 and 11. Rating: 9/10 Quote
Guest polarbaer Posted October 15, 2001 Posted October 15, 2001 alien encounter 1 is brilliant, very hypnotizing ! Quote
Guest pralien[at]shpongle[dot]com Posted November 20, 2001 Posted November 20, 2001 VERY GOOD ALBUM....exteremely psychedelic.....only one bad track :7. BEST ARE : 1,2,4,5,8,9,10 7.5/10 Quote
seraph Posted February 8, 2002 Posted February 8, 2002 Psychedelic brilliance ! Boris Blenn at his finest hour... cosmic, trippy, effective... I like all tracks except Technologic, so dull... 9/10 Quote
Guest Davidtolsn Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 one of the best of electric universe. not as many boring tracks, and some really good psychedelic ones. my favorites are 2, 9, and 10. boring tracks include 3, 4, 5, 7, and 11. seems many people have various likes and dislikes for specific tracks but the consensus is that it is good. but none of them are bad, and some of them are very good. the style is very clean, i wouldn't necessarily describe it as goa (same with other electric universe albums). more "psychedelic techno" maybe? anyway, either this or blue planet is the best e.u. cd, and i like that boris has a unique sound to contribute. 8/10 Quote
long ripps Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 fairly good album, but I expected a bit more when I bought it ... 7/10 Quote
Darkarbiter Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Great album! Many very very solid tracks... and rising star is brilliant! Full review later but I'd probably say 9.1/10. I don't really think the tracks sound similar either... well at least it doesn't affect the listening experience really. This album has everything going for it... pretty nice flow... some real nice tunes and pretty pschedelic yet fun and uplifting. Quote
qa2pir Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 His drum work is excellent. Listen to "Radio S.P.A.C.E". Just so WET and FAT. Quote
Basilisk Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 My review (slightly more critical than anything here): http://www.ektoplazm.com/reviews/electric-...erse-stardiver/ Quote
mephistopheles Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 to be honest, never really got into this one.... surely track numbers 2 - 3- 5 are excellent....but the rest.....hmmm ...... not one of the best from that era i believe....and i like one love much more.... but once again all imho Quote
reger Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Luna Overdrive is one crazy track, pitty it ends so abrutply and is so short, could have been longer Quote

Sideffect... Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 My favourite Electric Universe album. Its musically so rich , filled with spacey melodies!! Luna overdrive and online information are the top tracks here for me. Bring the old EU back!!!!! +1 Electric universe - stardriver 1997) Stardriver is my favorite electric universe album. Very floating waves and tiny 303 patterns in it's advancement. The album starts very gentle and ends in pure melody with tracks like sunset skyline etc... All tracks are ok to great what makes the entire album more then recommended. This is warm trance and great to for home listening Discogs: http://www.discogs.c...ver/master/1000 Quote
Trance2MoveU Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Not really one of the classics you first think of from 97 right? And with good reason. Like a lot of EU albums it's a bit hit and miss. He opens real well with Alien Encounter (Part 2) and From the Heart (love that little acid lick), but then he doesn't do anything with it. Imagine finding out you have the winning lottery numbers and just shoving the ticket in the drawer. A friend of mine likes Radio S.P.A.C.E. but not me. It's another example of a track that could've been more. The Rising Sun floats with extended goa lines which is nice, but it isn't until we get to Online Information that he slaps yo momma. Its outer space melodies pick up where the previous track left off and they make this puppy a classic track. You can see where the shift occurred as now your into growly goa territory and I'm fully into involuntary twirl mode. "Yes I can't help dancing either, but stay the f*ck out of my Cheez-Its!!" But then like a boy band member with facial hair something just doesn't belong. After two great tracks why would you put the decidedly non-goa Technologic next? Face meet wall. Totally killed any momentum he was building. Astral Voyage tries to recover, but it's not of the same quality and it's only 4 and a half minutes long anyway. Then in another head scratcher he gives you the Sunset Skyline edit rather than the original found on this comp. Not cool Boris. The title track is cool; a bit slower, but still quality. Finally we come to Alien Encounter (Part 1) and that is a downtempo track. But I don't know why, it's not like we were coming downhill on skates. Still, this is where I believe him to excel with sinister sounds and clear break beats. Good closing. So like I said hit and miss. Maybe this just suffers from poor track order, but I couldn't melt into it like many other releases from 97. You can still get it here Mdk Quote
