Guest tandava604[at]yandex[dot]ru
Squaremeat - Stereophonic Wave Soup Artist: Squaremeat Title: Stereophonic Wave Soup Label: Exogenic Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 09'03" Ultra Far 02. 08'34" Still Alive 03. 11'27" Hilavitkutin 04. 06'52" Valomerkki 05. 08'14" Hard Horse 06. 08'39" Batman Vs Puzzler 07. 06'15" H130S 08. 07'20" True Reality Review: This is an outstanding album. Squaremeat did something really weird, twisted and crazy following the best finnish traditions=))) A lots of funky uplifting vibes, all the tracks (expt. the last one)are very good to dance. "True Reality" is a kind of ambient/dub oriented track and I found it quite deep and psychedelic. The best one is 2nd "Still Alive" with amazing voice and guitar samples. I can give it 9/

Guest Stormbringer
This review will be in swedish... sorry! But this is a very old review I made for a swedish mailing list. I thought none of the above reviewers really understood how great this album really is. I omslaget står (bland annat): Squaremeat Wavesoup is made of fresh kicks and organically cultivated basslines. It´s unique flavour comes from 10-year old hihats, percussions and sweet´n´sour snares that have been mixed in the right proportion and let to simmer gently.
Guest Getting funky...
These guys are the real Finnish funkstars and they will make stump your hands and clap your feets!
Guest [Anonymous]
To get eight tracks and one hidden is too little value for money and the music sounds like beginners making it with cheap software. There is no professional sound to be found here, amateurs at home playing with samples. Most of the sounds are indeed ripped from others, nothing creative here !! Steer clear ! Guest Christian
This is one of the most amazing trance albums ever released. If you don't know the sound then it'll blow your mind away. Rates right up there with Logic Bomb - Headware and Dark Soho - Sun Spot (Yes I know it's not the same trance, but I'm talking pure Distilled Brilliance, not type of music). My favourite track is Ultra Far. The way it evolves and flips just blows me away. So go out and get it (if I could afford it I'd buy another one). And also. If any of the guys from Squaremeat ever read this, Please come play in South Africa, Cape Town! I love Intelligent Trance and it doesn't get more intelligent than this, twisted sounds and phat beats kick up a storm with the added advantage that its EXTREMELY stompable! Guest Acidhive
Squaremeat rules!! And to think I once was the one that said they were really shitty producers! Forget I said that, this is pure genius! Really, this hits it just right! Wird, funky, psychedelic, it has all the ingredients you need for a real mindmelter!! The great use of voice samples and the effects they've thrown over them, this just spells out: Masters to me!! I'd give this 9/10 and if you can get a hold of a copy, do so immediately!! You'll never regret it!!
