Guest Stormbringer
Human Blue - Stonehenge / Psychotix Artist: Human Blue Title: Stonehenge / Psychotix Label: Spiral Trax Date: 1997 Track listing: 01. Stonehenge 02. Psychotix Review: This ep by Human Blue (Dag Wallin) sold out very quickly and there´s still people searching for it. I´ve been offered 30 dollars for my copy but I haven´t sold it. Well... what´s so special with this ep then? Besides being one of the first releases on Spiral Trax it´s also one of the first ep´s with some major similarity to the famous Scandosound. Both tracks are minimal and monotonous but they´re still warm and melodic too. "Stonehenge" (7/10) sounds very much like acidtrance in some aspects because of the TB 303 used in most of the track. The last 2-3 minutes are really energetic and pumping, and it´s a pity that the build-up for the climax is so long. I think that the remix of "Stonehenge", released on the Human Blue album "Ice", is a stronger version but the climax is best in the original. "Psychotix" (9/10) is more minimal than "Stonehenge" and it consist mostly of a beat and a solosynthmelody with a quite Arabic or Oriental touch. I just love that melodyline!!! I don´t know how many times in a row that melody is repeated but I promiss you that I´ll never get tired of those few tones. This track is a good example that less can be more sometimes, and it´s one of my personal favourites from the Spiral Trax label.
Guest Moog Spectral
I got this tune when it came out and there was lots of copies available, and I wouldn't have imagined so many demands for this record would appear now..It is probabably because at the time it went out, this kind of sound was not yet everybody's cup of tea. New sounds need time to stick to our brains!! I think it would have great success if it went out now! Some old tunes will soon have their place back on the decks, just because life is a circle:-)this is a good exemple. But don't panic!! I saw some copies in several shops around Europe. The BEST Ep I got from Spiral Trax has to be "Hux Flux-Lex Rex Perplex/Errorhead" followed by Best Spiral Trax LP "Talamasca-Musica Divinorum"
