Guest Stormbringer
Walhalla - Stuntrunner / Foam Plastic Artist: Walhalla Title: Stuntrunner / Foam Plastic Label: Sub Machine Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Stuntrunner 02. Foam Plastic Review: Those of you who have read my review of the Walhalla ep "Triplicate / Formantic Headache" (Moon Spirits) know that I really liked that one and that I was very positive about the future of Walhhallas music. Now I´m not that certain anymore. "Stuntrunner" (5/10) sounds like a very average track to me. There´s no energy and nothing else either that I like with this track. It´s just a grinding beat with no action. I think of the label Medium when I hear this. Don´t get me wrong! Some Medium tracks are cool but that´s NOT why I usually buy. This is almost minimal! The word "boring" could be used to describe this track if I had to be brief in my description of it and I can´t find any reason to go any further in this review about that track so let´s use "boring". "Foam Plastic" (4/10) is rather minimal too but it got a very tribal feel to it which makes it a little different. Tribal drumming might be groovy sometimes but this is rather uninteresting too. I´m very disapointed and now I don´t know how to do when the next Walhalla ep is released. I probably NOT end up buying it without listening to it first. This is the third release from SUB MACHINE RECORDS and I´m very confused how the music from that label will sound in the future. This ep feels as interesting as taking a nap in a library but SUB 004 by Tetraktys is more like being a lifeguard at "Acid Beach", corrosive as hell! I really hope that the sound of Tetraktys is what to expect from SUB MACHINE RECORDS in the future!
Guest Mark
I disagree with the above, the track Foam Plastic is sub par. It has a strong beat with some promising sounds but it goes nowhere. The track sounds underdeveloped 5/10. Where I disagree is Stunrunner, this is awesome and powerfull. The sounds progress and there is a jumping beat that really gets me moving. It closes hard and strong as well. 8.5/10. Maybe a 9.

Guest SoundPiece®
Hey!!! Stunrunner is a real masterpiece. If you don´t like it, leave it... I´m gonna keep this with me forever. 9/10 Foam Plastic is not so good like Stunrunner. 7/10 But anyway... I like so much Walhalla.
