Timetech - Supainfection / Kee

Artist: Timetech

Title: Supainfection / Kee

Label: Medium

Date: 2002

Track listing:

01. 08'05" Supainfection

02. 08'07" Kee

Review:

For those of you (myself included) who enjoyed Timetech's "Nothing

Else" on the Stereoide comp comes a 12" with two more servings, one

great, one mediocre. Timetech is Sebastian Plehn and Mario Reinsch

(the latter a member of Haldolium). While I havn't been too fond of

many Haldolium releases in the past, the A-side on this record is a

notable exception. The song itself is rather minimal, i.e. not very

many elements, but the sounds they do employ are done so expertly: the

dry, germanic kick drum, multiple layers of groovalicious percussions,

the steady click of the hi-hats. Nothing that hasn't been done before

mind you, but they definately make it sound good! The B-side has that

ubiquitous, syncopated bassline that's really been irritating me of

late. It's a shame too, because they are some potentially redemptive

elements to this track, but ultimately it lacks the groove or polish of

the first song. 7/10 for the whole EP.
