Anoebis
V/A - A Taste Of Trust In Trance Artist: Various Title: A Taste Of Trust In Trance Label: Nova Tekk Date: 1998 Track listing: 01. 08'26" Astral Projection : Mahadeva 02. 09'01" Power Source : Goaway 03. 07'30" MFG : Magnetic Activity 04. 09'03" California Sunshine : Alala 05. 07'05" Mystica : Expose 06. 08'44" Nada : Transparent Future 07. 05'19" Shidapu : Paradise 08. 07'12" Aban Don : State Of Mind 09. 09'26" SFX : Y-Salem Review: A typical selection of the best Israeli Psy-Trance, I guess most of the songs are known!! nr 1 is the well known track of Astral Projection (still one of the best tracks they ever made), nr 2 is the Power Source song with that touching melody in it and 3 we find one of the classics by MFG!! Nr 4 and 5 are the Least good songs on this CD!! 6&7 are very melodic but still pretty good dance-music!! And nr 8&9 show us some more Israeli melodic stuff!! (but NON of those melodic songs are cheesy!!) Bom Shankar
Guest Smg
Just look at the names on the CD...!?! Pretty much all of the tracks are legends of Israeli goa-trance. When it comes to old school reach-for-the-sky goa, there's no beating the AP's 'Mahadeva', all goa fans should, and prolly will know it. If you don't...you're in the wrong place . Power Source's "Goaway" also is really a great track, and it gives me good feeling. California Sunshines recent releases have been quite fluffy for me, but luckily its not the case with this one, in my opinion "Alala" is a great track, and it sounds somewhat 10 times darker and better than most of the tracks on new album. Almost as driving as two first tracks. I give 10/10 for the tracks 1, 2 and 4. Tracks 3, 5, 6, 7 don't impress me that much, they're pretty much basic pumping all the way and I give 7/10 for them. Last two tracks are originally about 3 years older than this release, and are made by the guys of Astral Projection. They are quite good, and sound very much different than goa nowadays, which I'm pretty happy about. 8/10 for the last two tracks, and same for the whole album. Bom! Manuser
I don't know how many times I listened to this compilation. This is the first goa trance Cd i ever bought, so it is very special to me : ) and even though i listened to the tracks too much, this is one of the few CDs i will never sell. Well never... who knows... Look : in the same CD, Mahadeva, Goaway, and Y-salem. The Mystica's track, it is really different from what we can hear in Age to Innocence, and it is a special track to me, as well as Alala by California sunshine. Mahadeva and Goaway, nothing to say, but the true special track to me is SFx - Y-salem : it is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated trance tracks i have heard, or perhaps people don't feel the same as me when they listen to this track. I find it beautiful, pure, and really emotional, even today. So, if you can find this CD, by chance on second hand, it is your luck!
Guest Cosmogenesis
A very classic compilation for the people who wants to discover the israeli goatrance! All the tracks are well-know and have left a mark in the goa history. Maybe some of the artists' best tracks ever are part of this compilation : Astral Projection's legendary tune or goa anthem "Mahadeva" starts with the best possible feeling (or like an evidence) this compilation; the second track or the mythic "Goaway" has placed Power Source among the top goa israeli artists and future goa pioneers, also for MFG's "Magnetic activity" and California Sunshine's "Alala". "Expose" from Mystica and "Paradise" from Shidapu sound like two israeli powerful hymns. And finally, the last two tracks of the former Astral Projection projects (Aban don & SFX) complete perfectly this very great compilation! Personnaly, I think that "Transparent future" from Nada is a little under the high quality present in the other compilation's masterpieces. That's why maybe Nada wasn't so famous like the other future top groups...
Trance2MoveU
"The best way to predict the future...is to invent it." L'chaim! Oh Israel and your classic goa trance! Why do I feel that if I say anything not profusely positive about these tracks that I'll be labeled an anti semite? Every building has to have cornerstones and some of these tracks may be the foundation of goa trance. For some of you. However at the risk of being negative I'll say that the shine has come off the diamonds. For me anyway. After you hear the classics over and over again it's possible that they no longer will have the impact they once had. Remember the first time you heard the silky, smooth tones of a young Justin Bieber? Thinking that music had reached the pinnacle and everything else naught but a disappointment? I kid. He sucks. And like me you probably would take the opportunity to punch him in the scrotum. What was I talking about? Oh yeah, Israeli goa trance. Mahadeva the best AP had to offer? Meh. Maybe I'm just tired of waiting for new material. Power Source's Goaway is a classic that they've never equaled. I'll give you Magnetic Activity it still rocks. Alala is more annoying than anything else and Expose isn't bad I suppose. Surprisingly I liked the Nada track even if it really didn't go anywhere. The rest are good, but ain't none of 'em gonna set your house on fire. Bottom line, it's a good, solid compilation (not the greatest) that keeps the goa vibe alive. Can't really complain about that can we?
