Anoebis
V/A - Technobotanic Tryptamines 2 Artist: Various Title: Technobotanic Tryptamines 2 Label: Nephilim Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 06'29" Silent Earth : Behind The Face 02. 10'15" Jess M : Slave To Science 03. 07'46" Har-Ell And Dardasman : Virus 2000 04. 07'42" Dopamin : ESP 05. 10'43" Brain Deflections : Horizontal-Y 06. 10'54" Distortion Orchestra : Universal Oscillator 07. 06'18" XIS : Magic Fly 08. 08'10" Salamantra : B-Logic 09. 06'35" Rules Of Hypothalamus : Roh Review: A nice various compilation, altough you can hear in almost every track why it is released on a German label! )) The first track is very slow and made for the morning with long, trancy breaks!! The second track is the weakest of the compilation, véry boring track that reminds me alot of Trommelmachine by Der Dritte Raum, so many drums with on top of that a techno-sounding melody. The 3d track is a very powerfull & psychedelic tune that would work fine during the night on not minimalistic parties! Number 4 is more minimalistic again. Altough it is fast and has some cool psychedelic effects in it I don't like it because of the break in the middle which sounds very D'n B!! Then we have the very long Brain Deflections track which I like because it's the perfect mix between melodic & progressive trance! Tip by this one: Listen to it on a good soundsystem, it sounds much better than!! The next track has a long and trancy intro but when the bass comes in it you'll hear it is a hypnotic track that builds & builds till the end!! The Xis track is very good. Very psychedelic with a groovy rhytm. The next song is by a Russian group and is more morning-like, with some dreamy melodies and a complex rhytm-section... So hard to dance on it! The last song is very bad, simply to noisy. My personal favourits are: 3,5,6,7 and it get's a 6,5/10. Bom Shankar
Guest tranceromancer[at]goatrance[dot]
What a shame to continue the technobotanic tryptamine compilation series WITHOUT actually taking or understanding or even ADMITTING the association to tryptamines and the music. The first one was BY intentionally tryptamine using people, FOR tryptamine using people AND the music was clearly TRYPTAMINE ENCHANCED. Seems like the new nephilim dude has NOT realized even in the FIRST PLACE what this series was supposed to mean & do. SAD BUT TRUE. well I know the ones who know what i mean realize it allready without listening. PS: The tryptamine covers of the first one are imho some of the most "realistic" and scary pieces if tryptamine art ever created. STAY TRUE TO YOUR TRYPTAMINES!!!
