Guest Stormbringer
Lomax - Teletron Artist: Lomax Title: Teletron Label: Jum Jam Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Teletron 02. Odball 03. Butterfahrt Review: I´m trying to keep up with all the new labels out there but that´s almost an impossible task. Last month I found the second release from JUM JAM RECORDS with three tracks made by LOMAX (B. & N. Nurtjipta). I´ve never heard of the label or the artists before but I bought the record anyway without listening to it first. It is made of yellow vinyl so I bought it partly because of that... really stupid, I know! The titletrack, "Teletron" (4/10) is another of those minimal dark tracks we´ve heard too many times before. It´s slow (137 BPM) and pretty static. "Odball" (5/10) is also very slow (136 BPM) and it´s similar to "Teletron"... dark... minimal... monotonous... you know what I mean, dont you? The track has some cool voicesamples but that´s pretty much it. "Butterfahrt" (8/10)(137 bpm) is very different from the other two tracks, hoo-hoo! It´s ultraminimal with just a couple of sounds but the beat makes me wanna wag my butt on the dancefloor, and if I pitch this sucker up (+1 or +2) it really starts to get interesting. It builds in intensity and towards the end it´s not that minimal anymore. "Butterfahrt" sounds metallic and industrial in a way that I really like, and I think this is the track I´ve played the most times during the last couple of weeks.
