Review:

The friend of mine gave me this comp for evaluation recently & now I'm here

to co-share my experiences. After a few repeated spins I consider these CDs

being a prolly good choice of tracks, with CD-1 being yet more prominent in

terms of consistency & flow intensity. All the tracks were mixed by DJ

Flashback, what adds its flavour, but makes it less worthwhile for real

collectioners. Also I should mention a small trouble with mastering on CD-2

which comes onto forefront from track to track and manifests itself as noise

factor or slight distortions of certain signal frequencies. The music itself

is goa, but let me guess - more mature goa - the mood-close-to-the-root is

still there but some experimentation is also involved which brings some more

variation between tracks & also inhibits the ageing factor, I mean you don't

bother when it was produced while listening to it. Either of the CDs starts

from an experimental track, both very good, really. All in all, my

highlights on CD-1 are tracks 1 & 8 for break elements smartly used, track

4 - for hypnotic feel to it, track 9 - for nice progression with the ending

I'm fond of and, of course, track 10 for simply being up to the high

standard ;) . But all other CD-1 tracks are also good, except that

abovementioned are slightly better. CD-2 opener by Joujouka & its follower

by The Visitors keep it cool in the same vein CD-1 already had in the

beginning, then there's some confusion in the course, worse that - low

production value added. I like track 3 actually but not here. Tracks 6, 7 &

10 are classic goa songs, way too much classic imho to be put here. Track 8

by Messiah along with track 9 should be the ones to follow the first two for

the journey to ride right. Well, tracks 1, 2, 8 and 9 are the good ones, all

others only decent. CD-2 is not as convincing as CD-1, in other words, it

has no integrity or convergence between tracks. But neither this means it's

bad. So, 8/10 for CD-1 and only 6,5/10 for CD-2. Tchankov I.V.
