Review:

 

Alien is Alastair Johnson, and this is a really nice chill out album called

'Pleasure Of Leisure' and it's released at Blue Room. I sort of have started to

collect chill out music, becouse I just love this genre in the psychedelic

world

and also becouse I'm slowly learning to DJ... and I've chosed to play chill

music. Anyway... I'm just babbling right now... this album has becomed one of

my

favourites among my chill collection. The tracks are very downtempo and

contains

some great atmospheric drum'n bass sounds, but still it's sort of psychedelic,

and maybe that's why it's released at Blue Room? :-) First track, 'Everything I

Never Said' contains a very drum'n bassy sound and it's good! track 2 is a

actually a bit more faster... very nice bassline and nice grooves. Track 3 is

one of the best I think, very atmospheric and it has at the middle of the track

a very nice 'klinking' melody wich I like much. Track 4 is also good, this one

is really downtempo and also contains this drum'n bass line. Track 5, 'Slow

Fader' has becomed my favourite on this album, also some atmoshperic sounds and

a real nice saxofone sound, wich in my opinion is very nice to combine with.

Track 6 is very good to, a bit faster bassline. Track 7 is again very downtempo

and has a nice bass. Track 8 is overall very similar to track 7... maybe this

one is a bit better though? :-) Track 9 is also one of the best tracks on the

album, it has a really good flowing atmospheric melody. Track 10 is not really

that good... what can I say? hard to explain this one... a bit faster than the

others. Last track, 11, is very very downtempo and is a really good finishing

on

the album, very sad melody wich flows real good. So, overall this album, as I

said, is very good, it's worth 8/10 atleast, I recomend you ambient phreax out

there to get this. Enjoy!!!

a very enjoyable album wjcichis not afraid toexperiment..... every track is in

a different genre, d&b , aphex twin electronica , ambient trance everything is

here .... some gems in here
