Guest Ubik
X-Dream - Trip To Trancesylvania Artist: X-Dream Title: Trip To Trancesylvania Label: Tunnel Date: 1997 Track listing: 01. 09'31" Trancesylvania X Press 02. 11'24" This 03. 08'15" The 5th Dimension (Live In Paris) 04. 04'53" Time Begins Tomorrow (Orbit Fly) 05. 10'22" Children Of The Last Generation 06. 05'03" Automatic X 07. 06'36" Live Fast Die Young 08. 07'40" COTLG (Rmx) Review: Surely a classic. Very deep and spacey trance that makes you fly. For those who know their other album Radio, Trip to Trancesylvania is completely different. This album is not dark, or twisted. It is very bright, and shining. My favourite should be This, for its wonderful drum loop, but the first and the last tracks are not far. This album had so much success that it had been reissued ! The cover of the first version is better, with a train on it, but there is on the second version a quicktime movie, sadly only for mac, so I couldn't see it. 7.5/
Guest Tequila
I was disappointed by Radio, but Trip To Trancesylvania is great!!I still cannot find any best track .The whole album is really enjoyable and I clearly advise you to buy it because that's a classic.Good work.7.5/
Guest mrsyed
Wow! This is an old old album yet it outshines most of the newer releases. And do you ever get the feeling of deja Vu when you hear the new tracks by Artists like Atmos, Noma. These guys borrow heavily from the Old X-dream sound. Tracks that resonate the brightest and freshest sound are abound in this brilliant album, makes you just yearn for the golden of age of Goa. What a dark world we live in now, it's either the dark scary goa or the disposable and intolerable Nitzohot stlye greek/Israeli trance. Buy this without hesistation. freak51
If you can find it, you owe it to yourself to buy it. From the Kraftwerk-like train-sounds (i.e., Trans Europe Express) in Trancesylvania X Press to the very fast and full COTLG. remix, this is a killer disc from start to finish. Timeless; ageproof. Guest AtomikElf
light free-sounding trance. subtle introduction of intelligent sound is what this cd is all about. needs to be played loud to be fully appreciated, and/or listened to attentively - or else you'll miss the intricacies. all the songs are excellent, but "this" is a masterpiece to me. it's a true, sound-guided voyage. give it a few listens, and when u're ready to let yourself go to it, you will be amazed, and realize what really good trance is!! have fun - 8/10 - man from the atom
Guest X - Dreamer in NYC
When I first listened to this album I honestly didn't know this was X-Dream. It has a very different sound than the rest of their albums. More of a happy sound maybe? Still a classic and a must have. 7/
Guest LaGoaTrance
The best X-Dream album (even if "Radio" et "We created our own happiness" are fantastic !). Listen it the nignt when you're very tired, close your eyes and you will understand how magic this album is...9.5/
Children
Interesting CD, but the "worst" one from X-Dream in my opinion ... Best Tracks here are Tracks 1,5 And particularly 8 ... I don't like Track 4 (too short) ... Rating : 5.5/

Guest ArchNemesis
I dont get it. I have the other X-dream albums and i love those. But i dont get this one. It stinks to say it at least. I love x-dream, but this is to soft and happy for me. X-Dream & The Delta are much much better.

Guest maf00[at]writeme[dot]com
All great. I am searching for artists of this caliber. Does anyone know some alternatives? At the moment I am playing in my homestudio trying to get some dirty noises. It's not that simple. Contact me if you can help me out with some psychedelic stuff like this. Guest Sheshbesh007
Very trippy and quiet... I fing this album realy fun !
Jon Cocco
I just got this album today for 25 bucks, I don't get it. Track 1 and 2 are very melodic and cool, but the rest of the album is reptitive and soft and at times annoying. I think "X-Dream-Radio" is brilliant, and I realize Trip to trace...is their first album and should not be their best. Regardless, this is not good. I bought this because many people said, "the best X-Dream album," and "Genious," and "brilliant." The only thing great about this album is that it started the coming of their other albums. Guest zeus class
The included quicktime video is hilarious! the track is "This" an OK track... but i swear man that video is damn funny. I mean it's too bad i'm laughing AT the video (it's not supposed to be funny). I think it's supposed to be emotional or somthing. But MAN,It was a mistake including that video X.dream ... It just has a guy shaking a TV, and then he shakes it some more... then it's a bunch of distorted pictures of someone running... blah blah Kinda acting psychotic... pathetic video so sooooo sooooooo bad my goodness.. 5th Dimention is a good track i like that one. Trancesylvania starts out and you think it's going to be scary weird "the delta" style. But then it gets uplifiting... at the same time. Weird wailing in the background. No real killers on this album...the last track should of been written by ATB, bad bad club trance. (Well all club trance is bad) So far my impression of this Album is: it's mediocre not worth the money...
freak51
OK, maybe not 'ageproof' as I thought previously. It definitely sounds like 1995 - it _was_ 1995, after all. Still, if you're into melodic or old Goa sounds, this is totally worth the money. If you don't enjoy that style/era, you won't like the record. Guest Davidtolsn
my least favorite x-dream album, but still pretty good. a lot softer than the other ones, with not as much in your face psychedelia. long, semi-ambient tracks (although they have a definite beat, it's a soft one). i like the concept of softer songs without the beat slowed way down, also. favorite is definitely track 2. 7.5/
seraph
Pretty good album but surely weaker than We Created Our Own Happiness...It varies in styles, there is even a bit of drum'n'bass trance and it is pretty good structure...Less psychedelic then their other albums but they are doing pretty quality work here as well...Best songs are : TRIP TO TRANCESYLVANIA ( ! ), THE 5TH DIMENSION, TIME BEGINS TOMORROW, CHILDREN OF THE LAST GENERATION ( AMAZING !!! ), COTLG RMX....8/
Mindphilux
Just got this album the other day. WOW what a classic... The 5th Dimension really stands out on here for me. I mean yeah, it sounds dated a tad, but it was 1993... I dare say its just as enjoyable now as it must have been back then. I noticed this is a re-release.. can anyone tell me if the track "it" is any good? Wasn't included on this re-release for some reason.. dvnt
wicked album, but prefer the darker stuff. lol. sorry like radio but its not their best work.
Jon Cocco
X-Dream - Trip To Trancesylvania 1997 Track listing: 01. 09'31" Trancesylvania X Press ... B 02. 11'24" This ... B+ 03. 08'15" The 5th Dimension (Live In Paris) ... A- 04. 04'53" Time Begins Tomorrow (Orbit Fly) ... B+ 05. 10'22" Children Of The Last Generation ... A- 06. 05'03" Automatic X ... B 07. 06'36" Live Fast Die Young ... B 08. 07'40" COTLG (Rmx) ... B+ I put this album in my player and I don't remember it being so good. Sure certain tracks drag a bit with repetition while others have areas that moving, not repetitive, and a handful of parts are very touching and beautiful. Track 3 has these parts that are wonderful, so positive and enjoyable sounding. I think these parts sound beautiful. Also, just after 3:00 into track 2 is another example. I hadn't heard this album in around 7 years until this date. My initial impression carried over into the words still on page 1 of this thread. This proves once again in life that there is often more to things than meets the eye. X-Dream creates both great light and dark music. This debut seems to be filled with the most light. It compliments the others and I can't decide which one is their best album anymore. Trip To Trancesylvania is a classic album and there's nothing wrong with it sounding a bit dated over time. In many ways music this good is ageless. I don't want to hear bitching that it isn't psychedelic enough. Go listen to something more psychedelic if thats what you feel like hearing. For 1997 and for X-Dream to create their own sound and style this good should be praised and appreciated. It's different, filled with light and upbeat melodies that at times remind me of another wonderful and more dynamic classic, Doof - Let's Turn On. Sure not every song is a classic song in my opinion even if some people consider them all classics because they're from a once loved group in Goa-Trance. But what year was these songs and this album really releaed? 1997 this thread says? No way! What year was this officially released? Something isn't right here. HIGHLIGHTS: 1, 3, 4, 5, 8. 8.9/10 = B+
Trance2MoveU
Artist: X-Dream Title: Trip To Trancesylvania Label: Tunnel Records Date: 1993 1. Trancesylvania X-press 2. Automatic X 3. The 5th Dimension (Live In Paris) 4. It 5. Live Fast - Die Young (Dedicated to BH) 6. Children of the Last Generation 7. C.O.T.L.G. (Triplet Mix) 8. Time Begins Tomorrow (Orbit Fly) What you see above you is the 1993 original release by Tunnel Records with the original track order. In 1997 they did a re-release as an enhanced CD with different artwork and track order. 1993. Yep the Rough and Rush guys have been doing their thing for over two decades. What that thing is these days I'm not entirely certain. But you know...they've been doing it. Now we all know their album We Created Our Own Happiness and how that zebra album is one of the all time goa trance classics. Well this paved the way for that and predates it by 4 years. 1993...what a year. Michael Jackson was investigated for child abuse for the first time. The world was asked how much money would it take to whore out your wife, and we were all introduced to a doberman faced string bean of a gangster named Snoop. For shizzle. This album could've easily been called Welcome to Technovania or Welcome to Ambientville. It's quite diverse. Children of the Last Generation is the most goa track followed by It and its funky rhythms, but they all have something to offer. The X-Press is soft trance with the shiny rays of goa peeking through while the nearly 17 minute opus 5th Dimension boasts a very detailed opening that eventually morphs into a trance track. Live Fast cranks up the noise and the techno factor while the last two are decent ambient pieces. It's old. It's dated. Some of the tracks go on too long. But it's still good and as I mentioned it gives the listener a glimpse as to where X-dream were headed with their next album. Recommended for lovers of trance or X-dream or one of the albums showcasing the beginnings of goa. However don't expect to just walk into a record shop (are they even around anymore?) and walk out with a copy. Apparently this has become quite the collectors item. An expensive collectors item.
