Guest iNFiNiTi500
Analog Pussy - Underground Artist: Analog Pussy Title: Underground Label: AP Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. Underground Syndrome 02. Revenge Of The Toys 03. Mandocello Warrior 04. Shperma Pornomatic (Video Mix) 05. Brutus 06. Hell Pump 07. Stomping Crow 08. Stop Tech 09. Federal Galactic Union Review: Ignorance is bliss and i have to admit that i never really cared about this horny "Image is Everything" crew. And those highflying chartpositions on MP3.com were of course purely instigated by horny teens downloading their stuff slightly biased by the slippery artist name and less else. But then the Israeli peep show released an album euphemistically called -Underground- and with expectations less than zero I gave it a try...-Underground Syndrome- is a dark and progressive affair kinda in the best X-dream tradition which morphs slowly but surely into a nice tribal ambient part. Great opener. -Revenge of the Toys- brings a lot of heavy percussion and tribal beats but less else. -Mandocello Warrior- has a very haunting yet catchy bassline and blends atmospheric ambient synths with 303 acid accompanied by excellent tribal stuff again. Not many artists can construct such a rich and psychedelic soundscape. Sheer class. The single -Shperma Pornomatic- is hard pounding floor stuff, technoish yet accesible. -Brutus- is a fast minimalistic groover where halfway numerous beats and sounds are thrown in. First tones of -Hell Pump- are pure dark ambient and after a careful firt with minimal beats, a very evil, atmospheric and psychedelic track emerges. Superb. -Stomping Crow- is a carbon copy of X-Dreams monotonous track -the Frog- and just as boring. -Stop Tech- starts 808-stateish but is rapidly taken over by a funky bass which subsequently merges with the previous warm synths, very daring and original track. The last track is of course ambient and -FederalGalacticUnion- doesn't disappoint as this could with ease be a track from chillout masters the Dub Trees and what a great way to finish a surprisingly modern and varied album. This is probably as good as its gets with the anticipated mixture of Israeli full-on style and European minimal. Quite logical actually since the dynamic Israeli duo live in Germany. All in all a very pleasant first encounter with psytrance' most glitterous and sexy act. Well done, Jinno & Jiga. 8.5/
Guest do.I[at]want.to.get[dot]flamed?
couldn't disagree more... AP had one great hit, "spherma pornomatic" which is REALLY good, and that's it... everything else they made, if you call arranging unstructered bleeps making music, sucks major donkey dick... Jinno + Jina just one the award for "not one inch of improvement since the last album"
Guest sunconscious
Analog Pussy's first release "Psycho Bitch From Hell" was very melodic and experimental. After that they went straight to club minimal and have rarely deviated from that formula. So it depends on what kind of music you like. Did you like the first album but not like their "MP3 Release" album? You will not like "Underground". Analog Pussy makes music to dance to at clubs, and hard to enjoy at home. It is very monotonous and minimal - perfect for clubs!

Guest mthole[at]home[dot]nl
As long as its minimal, it rocks. Its rather easy to improve music by adding ellements to a track. In my opinion it is art to let certain elements out and still be able to keep the track as intresting as it was before. So you get more structure and buildup instead of turning all gadgets "full-on" in the 1st 30 secs. of a track.
Guest p.i.e.r.r.e
No improvements here. Depends on if you like their new dark style or not.. Pierre
Guest [Anonymous]
You cannot say that this album is unprofessional! AP´s style on this album is very dark and minimal, so not everyone may like it, since it is quite different to their old stuff, but in this new category of music they really show their talents of producing good music as well! Guest jajaja
love opening song, underground syndrome, starts with a nice breakbeat, and then explodes on a very powerful bassline, along with some nice psy sounds. shperma pornomatic rocks hard. flows really nice and's got good percussion samples. the funky stoptech is also good. other than that, is not that grat at all, but for those 3 songs its worth having it
