Guest psygroove
I own all E.U. albums, and all I can say is, this one is niiiiccceeee, melody does not mean cheezy here, its more like a steady flow together with the geat production, 8,5/
Insejn
Electric Universe - Unify Artist: Electric Universe Title: Unify Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2002 Track listing: 01. 06'49" Solylun 02. 06'56" Activate 03. 07'21" Fire Wire 04. 08'41" Lumiere 05. 07'23" Impulse 06. 08'54" Exciter 07. 07'38" Embrace It 08. 06'39" Transmission 09. 05'27" Jetzt 10. 08'01" Gayatri Review: Here we go again :-) It's nice to here something more melodic in these days. It starts out very good with a nice good old fashion track. That typical synth sound bouncing up and down in the background together with some atmospheric (atmosphere) sounds and some regular sound effects. The next track has a more groovy feel to it. But the melodie is still there going up and down. Too bad it has a terrbile sample in it. Track #3 is a little more screamy then the first two tracks. Has a little more psychedelic touch to it. The melodie is simply perfect. Blends in very nice. The next track is...what shall i say. Less groovy and more close to cheesy. I don't really like that track. Track #5 is different. Less melodies and more sound effects. But the groove is here again. A much more hard track then the other ones. Next tracks is more like track #3. The melodie is more psychedelic, harder and scratchier. The end of the tracks is very good. Good percussions makes a cool beat. Track #7 is pretty much the same as the previous track. Actually, there is nothing more to say about that track. Number 8: yet another fine melodie. Sometimes they through in awesome percussions whom, unfortunatly, are being lost in the melodie. Too bad. The next track is slow. What to say. Good try. Nothing special about it. But it aint bad because of that. The last track is also ambient. But this one is better. Has some nice voices and cheesy sounds wich fits in well. Cool beat also. Anyway...If you are into more melodic goa you will like this. Sorry I can't compare this to the previous albums as I have not heard them :-/ Final Verdict: 7/
Guest *christine*
I agree with psygroove, a very nice release from EU, Track 6 does it for me with a great "classic", but full-on sound. Track 9 is on Global Psy Chillout 3 (Spirit Zone)...10 is sweet downtempo.(keep in mind if your not used to the EU sound you might find the melody throughout the album to be a bit much- but I am sure EU listener's will definitley turn out to ne a new favorite. 7/

Anoebis
One Word!! Transmission!!!! The last song on the main stage of VooV this year was that song while there was starting a thunderstorm... my god, how SWEEEEEEET memories!!!! Also during their live-act here in Belgium... when there was a circus-act doing all kind of stuff they were playing this magical song!! I have been searching for it since then, and now I finally have it!! Words can not express my feelings when I hear that melody... Pure Adrenaline!! The other songs are mostly nice, and very old-school, but they don't reach the lavel of Transmission!! All together 8/10 because it is one of thise rare great goa-cd's those days!! (WHY not making more stuff like THIS???????)!! Bom!
Guest Le Lotus Bleu
A very good album in old school trance-goa style. favorites are by order:1-7-8-4 bad track:6 rating:7,5/
Guest technic[at]klub.chip[dot]pl
The best goa trance album of the year !!! Rating: 9,5/
Guest --==MileS==--
Best release of 2002 thus far although that isn't saying much...10 decent melodic tracks with -Exciter- and -Embrace it- as personal favorites...Like many releases it lacks the twisted and chaotic psychedelica of the early goa days but the rest is there...So old skool moaners and lobbyist, get this...8.5/10. Guest aquamental
I didn't really like this album, but the last song offered me very pleasant surprise when i heard the beautiful mantra we used to sing in the healing center on Koh Phangan... the cover is also very beautiful and i guess the music too, but just not for my taste. Lemmiwinks
I'll just say this to all those oldschoolers out there which are not happy with most recent (minimal...) releases: your prayers have been answered!!! Of course, since it's EU, you can expect, as usual, 1 or 2 KILLER tracks (track 7 and 8 -- yeah Anoebis, I remember that track from when they where in Belgium too!! all the memories...) and the rest "average"... Although by "average" I mean compared to 96-97 standards, cause compared to 02 standards, they're ALL great!! This is(I'm writing this in may) the best 02 release so far IMO!! 10/10!!! Guest DJ Supernova
i like this release very much. reminds me a lot of old-school goa. it's very beautiful with sweet melodies at times. it's not for everyone as i can see 'cause it's not dark and storming, but for those who are tired of those sounds, it's highly recommended. i would like to hear more psy artists with more emotion like this. nice! favs. transmission, lumeiere, activate 8/
Guest Goa Spirit
this is one of those albums that i have tried to like, but it just don't do it for me.... when i hear this i hear cool electro basses mixed with tb303 like sounds on arps.... 10 tracks of the same formula add up to boring music for me.. there is one real killer here, and that is unify... apart from that, i would much rather hear more progresssive stuff... i dunno i think this sound just doesn't move me like it used to... very strange... anyways i am sure lots of you like it, and respect to that./.. cheers... seraph
Pretty Good album but it does get lost somewhere...It is not so well produced old school goa album with 5 extremely good songs : FIRE WIRE, IMPULSE, EXICTER, EMBRACE IT and TRANSMISSION...rest is or just good or just poor : JETZT and GAYATRI....7/
Guest MAG Fire
Why dont they make more music like this anymore... god damn it!!! I remember in da old days when techno, Psy and TRance where just starting to make an appearaence in peoples homes and in the Clubs... It was all Good and inventive, But now most of the artist copy each-other and most of the albums "pretty" much sound the same, Do U remember when Infected Mushroom Came out Wow that was something entirely new... This album really takes me back and i must admit that i miss those days allot... But back to topic this is an very exelent album and i would recommend it to every one missing that old spirit... 9/10 !!! Best Trk... 2, 6, 7, 10... All good!!! Oh yeah and Honda CRX is the M***** F***** Best/Beautifull Car In The world... Honda Make a new _good_damn_ it model :-) SORRY just had to get it of my mind... ... ... Trance2MoveU
Artist: Electric Universe Title: Unify Label: Spirit Zone Recordings Date: April, 2002 1. 06'49" Solylun2. 06'56" Activate3. 07'21" Fire Wire4. 08'41" Lumiere5. 07'23" Impulse6. 08'54" Exciter7. 07'38" Embrace It8. 06'39" Transmission9. 05'27" Jetzt10. 08'01" Gayatri *sigh* Boris Blenn has managed to unify boredom and terrible tracks in an unholy union not seen since the adding of peanut butter to mayonnaise. I realize that 2002 were the dark times, a time that gave psytrance the middle finger, but this was the best an "icon" could do? No, no...you don't get to pout. I got started so I'm going to finish. If you are afforded the cherished icon status then much is expected of you. Has there been anyone other than Astral that has been living off what they did in the past more than this guy? This music goes nowhere, caught in a nexus of sadness between goa and minimal. At some point those who care about Boris need to hold an intervention and take away his beat makers. The downtempo stuff is where he's at his best and even those weren't up to the bar he himself set as Galaxy. Paradise Connection? That sh*t seems like three lifetimes ago. Looking at his catalog it's just one terrible Electric Universe album after another in a trail of sadness and disappointment. He's had portholes of greatness (One Love, Cosmic Experience) in a Titanic sized hull that have so far culminated in the pinnacle of his trail of tears (Higher Modes). *shudder* Just because you put a lot of albums out there doesn't make you an icon. Insane Clown Posse did that and all they left behind was face paint and empty Faygo bottles. Damn I hated writing this as I'm a fan, but this sh*t is getting ridiculous. Think I don't see you Olli, I see you laughing over there. You want me to take aim at the sh*t you threw out there for a decade? Mdk
Blair Thaumic
From the little amount of time I spent with this album, it sounded directionless. Not bad, just directionless. The downtempo tracks were nice, but I can't say that anything stuck with me. I think you're being a little harsh on Electric Universe's albums, though -- no love for Stardiver, Waves, or Divine Design? Even Blue Planet was pretty good, when it wasn't trying too hard to sound like Der Dritte Raum. One hopes that Blenn will come to his senses someday! Manuser
I listened to this album last night, it aged well, I find the sound and groove quite remarkable. One of my favorite EU albums.
