Guest Stormbringer Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Noosphere - Vektor Artist: Noosphere Title: Vektor Label: Spirit Zone Date: 2001 Track listing: 01. 6'36" Vektor 02. 7'24" Hyperfocus Review: When I got this record in my hand for the first time I noticed that it was made by Niels Paschen & Eberhard Schultz and those names sounded so familiar that I just had to know where I had heard them before. After a quick look at my copy of the Delta album "Scizoeffective" I understood why I had recognized those names. The classic "As A Child I Could Walk On The Ceiling" was written by them together with Marcus Maichel and the "Scizoeffective" album is number 1 on my top ten albums of all time! http://www.psynews.org/favourit/stormbri.htm "Vektor" (8/10) may not be as furiously hard and nasty as most of the music I listen to but I still like it a lot. That sad melody is really addictive and I just can´t get enough of it. I read somewhere that someone thought that the melodyline sounded similar to the James Bond Theme. That may not be the best description but I understand what that person meant. Halfway through the track comes some sort of guitarlike sound that may sound similar if you´re not too meticulous? This is a mellow and smoth track but it´s still dark, and that sad melodyline haunts you through the whole track. When it´s over you feel like you´ve lost something... = only one thing to do! PUT THE RECORD BACK ON! This record must be perfect for the morning hours if you don´t want too many hugs and kisses on the dancefloor, but if you DO you should play something not as depressive!!! "Hyperfocus" (4/10) If there´s a killer A-side, why even bother with the b-side if that´s not as good? Quote
Guest Mark Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 I love this track as well, Vektor has a very deep bass line that punches your body around in a nice groove, and a very smooth melody. Well produced, well liked 8/10. The B side is not that catchy, i listened to it a couple of times and just never got into it. Quote
Guest Evilben Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Very well produced, this ep from Noosphere will give you a fresh vibe of melodic (Vektor) / hypnotic (Hyperfocus) trance... enjoy it!! Rating - Vektor : 8/10 ; Hyperfocus : 8.5/10 Quote
Guest Space Immigration Project Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Yes,yes, Vector is very nice..good melodic bass, kinda reminds of Tim's Pretty Poison, I guess...highly recommended Quote
Guest soma242[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 I personally hosted Noosphere in America for the first time this summer, where both of these tracks were debuted...but, IMHO, this record is ALL ABOUT Hyperfocus...Vektor is a smooth groove, but Hyperfocus simply RIPS SHIT UP!!!! just wait until the album is released early next year...these boys are about to leave a big, fat footprint PERMANENTLY on the face of PsyTrance as we know it...Cheers...Sean Quote
Guest Rabbitakis[at]hotmail[dot]com Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 Vector is a Classic piece of True psychedelic music ... Buy that record definetely!!!! Quote
Guest Philip Xmen Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 Vektor is so sad but also great. I seem to put it on again every time it ends. Hyperfocus is also good, but there's too much lost time without the melodies. 7/10 Quote
