Guest Mascok
V/A - Voojoo Rituals Artist: Various Title: Voojoo Rituals Label: Hovek Olam Date: 2000 Track listing: 01. 07'55" Domestic Mushroom : Scotch 02. 06'50" Passenger : The Race 03. 08'26" BLT : Lemon (Psycraft Rmx) 04. 07'01" Dark Soho : Madness 05. 06'48" Satlanation And DJ Gidi : Bassology 06. 07'48" DJ Goblin And Talamasca : Creatures From outer Space (Interactive Mix) 07. 07'57" BLT : Fluffer 08. 08'25" Infected Mushroom : Look At Me 09. 07'13" Psycraft : Wild 19 Review: This is the second Compilation from Hovek Olam. the first compilation focused more in tribal psychedelic trance, this one is more focused about modern israeli trance (?). First Track is Domestic Mushroom which includs erez aize and duvdev from infected mushroom and domestic (ido ophir and miki litvak). brilliant track!, like old infected mushroom. best track from the mushroom's this year (i think). hope all infected mush's track will be like that. and that infected melody in the end can make you go crazy in a party. BIG WOW . 2nd track is made by passanger which is guy zurkel, half of mfg. well this is a known track, released on full on 4, and well known in parties around here from the last year. still its a great track, great melodies, i like that one in 3:50, that goes up and up and booooooom . 3rd track is BLT - Lemon (psycraft Rmx). kinda old track made by BLT from Psychedelic Krembo vol. 4, 1999. this track well remixed but still not the best but not the worst. Forth track is made by Dark Soho called Madness, and there is surly madness in this track!. those drums and beats can kill people, and those guitars ahhhhhhaaaaa.. one of the best tracks in here. 5th track is Satlanation And DJ Gidi - Bassology. i really doesnt know who is satlanation, but dj gidi i know (he rocks, and he mixed this cd heh). a lot of weirdness and crazy in this track, greaaaaaattt basslines and drums - thats the reason for the name i think heh.. 6th track is (DJ goblin And Talamasca - Creatures from outer space - interactive mix) one of the best track in this album, i couldnt believe that goblin, took a part in the track making of this track . totaly great!!!. basslines, drums, vocal on the start, fx's, EVERYTHING hehe, gotta have this one!!!. this track was mixed by interactive, but i dunno whats that means, cause i have the non mixed and it sounds the same hehe - listen to 33:35 and up... after that crazy goblin and talamasca track, comes BLT with Fluffer, totaly crazy track, very dancable under drugs!!!, u should all try . not my favorite track here, but i know its good hehe. 8th Track is an another infected track (alone this time:) which is great too, nice beat and melodies, speacialy the one at 7:00+. not the best track here too but its good. and the last one but not the least (hehe , psycraft - wild 19, really crazy this one. psycraft bring us lots of sounds in one shot this track, which can be very effectable on dance floors. a lot of electricity in those melodies. nice track for ending. two words: GREAT COMPILATION. if you like the modern israelian style go and buy it. i really liked this one!!! (great cover too) - 9/10 (!)

Guest psytrance1[at]excite[dot]com
I absolutely LOVE this CD! Possibly the best compilation of the year so far, bursting at the seams with that full on, hard driving, high energy Israeli sound that no one else could even come close to. My favorites are 1,2,6,7. Track 7 (BLT/Fluffer)was a real nice surprise for me. I have their Alchemic Anecdote CD and overall it seems a bit slower paced, more easy-going. It's a nice CD for when you want to take a break from the hard-driving stuff. So I was expecting something similar from them on this track, but NOOOO... they show with this track that they can kick up the energy level when they want to! It's a great track, fits in perfectly with the other tracks that come before it. I would love to hear more from them along this line. The only negative I find on the CD is track 8 (IM/Look At Me). It just doesn't seem to go anywhere, it just sounds like "another IM track" without the bells and whistles, and the whole CD sort of loses steam there. Track 9 redeems things a bit, but I think it would have been better to have just left out track 8 altogether. I'm not saying it's a bad track, but it just doesn't seem to fit in style-wise with the other tracks. That being said though, if you like Israeli trance then you absolutely have to get this CD. You will not regret it!!!! And thanks to DJ Gidi for bringing this to us! Larry
Anoebis
Héhé, all hard and full on israeli Trance...!! Israeli Trance changed alot, just like the European Trance, but Isralien Trance became even better!! ) The best songs are 2 (the only really melodic Trance-song on this CD, is REALLY véry hypnotic), song 4(!!) (that is SOOO good... The part with the guitars... Straight from hell!!) By the way, it is a sample and a guitar rif from Sepultura!! DARKSOHO, You rule!!!!!!!!! Song 6 is also Véry wicked!!!! héhé... Except of those 3 KILLERS ALL the other songs are very good or good!! Hovek Olam, keep making such music!! Guest KVIN2000
So far this is the best compilation I've heard this year. ALL tracks are good and some are execellent (Infected mushroom, Domestic Mushroom,Dark Soho, Passenger). The only drawback I have is that the tracks are all mixed, and some are mixed very badly (especially the mix between tracks 1 and 2). This a show of power from the Israeli trance scene which prooves that, unlike some pople think, it evolved and changed in the last years. BUY.... Guest jsbedard
FAMOUS COMPILATION. All tracks are killers (except the 7). Really good and powerfull pumping stuff in the new israeli style. Really fat basslines. Just love it. Probably the best israeli album out in 2000. Nothing to see with "israliens 2:bizzaro" from hommega that really sucks. 9.5/

Guest Mindbender
At the moment I have to say that this is my favourite compilation (but that can change). All tracks are beautiful and great. The best track has to be Look At Me by IM with that incredible melody at the end. I get goose bumps every single time I listen to it. Can't understand why people don't like it, this is IM at their best. For me that's really the only standout, as all the tracks are so good that it's hard to stand out. Maybe I should still mention Madness and Bassology separately. Also the CD-case is the best so far. Labels, please package your CDs in these. The only negative things are that the mixing is not good (but who cares) and the vinyl version is only one disc with 4 tracks, not the whole comp. So I have the CD and the vinyl. 9,5/10. Guest Isra-Alien
The tracks are good (specially Infected And BLT), but Gidi is a bad remixer. I was really disappointed from his cuts, it kinda ruined the album for me. 7/
Guest Swedish Psy-trancer
Good Music (Infected Rocks) 8/10 The box sux (Damages the cd after a while)
Guest manicmagicmmushroomman[at]hotmai
OmygodOmygodOmygod... Suddenly I feel like I'm listening to trance for the first time again. THIS KICKS ASSSSSSSSssssssssssssss!!!!!!!! I had my doubts for the first 52 seconds of the CD and then I loved it from there on out. What a killer bass and beat in the first track!!! Dark Soho track is also out and out killer along with passenger which has to be the best melodic trance I have heard in ages - if not the best!!! Bassology is amazing. Creatures from outer space is truely devastating too. Only faults would be mixing (ugh!) and that the comp seems to loose direction a little towards the end. It looses that hard driving feeling that made the begging soooooo good. However this stuff is still much better than most of the good stuff on other CD's!! P.S. I couldn't hear any sepultura in Dark Soho's track, only Machine Head!! BUY IT NOW - DON'T DELAY!!!
Guest Kindgok
Swedish Psy-Trancer has a point. This is a failed experiment in package design. They did this with the "Shift" compilation as well -- awkward as hell! I immediately transferred this gem to a sturdier jewel case.

Tatsu
One of the best compilations I've heard so far... Energy filled Israeli trance, melodic but also not too soft. Especially the tracks by Domestic Mushroom, Passanger and Infected Mushroom are killers and keep you dancing...

Guest zyloon
The cover sucks, but the tracks are interesting : "The race" is the best here...bad point : it's mixed
seraph
This is very good compilation but not the best...One song only don't fit the concept and that's BLT 's FLUFFER , that is good, but just that but the best are : THE RACE, LEMON, MADNESS, BASSOLOGY ADN CREATURES FROM OUTER SPACE.... 8/
danvapid
yea, the Infected Mushroom track on this album is WAY underrated...i think its the best track on this album, but also one of the best of all time!!
