cangrejo
I'm thinking of buying a midi keyboard. I don't really need a synth because I don't think I'll ever play out of the house. However, if you know any synth in this price range that would do the same as a midi keyboard plus more I'm open for suggestions. Anyway, what I need is a keyboard, some sliders, maybe some pads. All pressure/speed/whatever you call it-sensitive of course. I've had my eyes on the KORG MicroKontrol for a while, but I've heard it has a very plastic feel, so I'm unsure. Does anyone have any experience with this keyboard? I'll probably also need to buy a new sound card, I've had my eyes on the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeMusic. Does anyone know if this is any good? It has a very low delay on the midi port, but that's about all I know about this sound card.

Shaft
Edirol PCR30 http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1/pages/....2.5-107-13-163 EVOLUTION MK461C http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1/pages/...1.3.2.5-91-4826 But I use an M-Audio Keystation 49e - even though this only has pitch bend and mod wheel, it's very cheap. I'm going to be picking up a dedicated control surface like this baby: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/UC33e-main.html

Mike A
I'd get a used one if I were you. Much cheaper, and usually works. Just check that all keys and knobs work - and there you go.
nomis
M-Audio just released new models... I just ordered this one, looks very cool... endless rotary encoders, semi weighted, aftertouch etc. Axiom 25 If you need sliders, more buttons, more octaves etc. then go for axiom 49 or 61 Axiom 49 Axiom 61 I used to have the oxygen 8 which i have been very pleased with.
