Guest DJ MIKE
Trends!!! What are you talking about, we need to be open minded travelers, open minded musical explorers, Mind Expansion!!! Psychedelic music is for Mind Expansion I tell you, why not be open to anything, I used to not like minimal but now I think it is very good for meditation. Be open Minded, trendy in psy trance, ive never heard that one before... :0) Peace -Mike

Guest ukiro
Dude, your mind is so open your brain fell out. The reason for the success of acts such as GMS and Alien Project is that we're getting a lot of fresh blood into the scene and they usually don't pick up the subtle stuff right away. Hence the popularity of itchy-scratchy-nonsense. I think GMS et al have turned psy-trance into the happy hardcore of the 21st millennium. Sure, people can listen to whatever they want, but those of you with brains already knew that. I for one think the housey influences lately have been great, and with just a little more actual melodies and notes the future is looking mighty good. I want music with a MOOD, music with a feel to it (other than nausea). Quirky soundeffects and dorky leads aren't going to send me into orbit any time soon, at least not on their own. Basilisk
haha, well said. some of this stuff really does have the musical content of happy hardcore.
Guest dam10n
Bear in mind their chart is about SALES... So people all over (most trancers aren't as well connected or well-informed as us lot 'ere) so of COURSE they're going to buy alien project and logic bomb... they may not be the two best releases of the year, but certainly they're two of the bigggest... I think it's positive to see Alchemy recs so high up in there...
Guest Sandwich
Well there is one progressive album there ;o)
Otto Matta
I think it's interesting that after all the pissing and moaning about minimal trance the last couple of years the trend is changing back to full-on. I was wondering if that was going to happen, if all the complaining was going to make a difference. Seems it has.
Basilisk
ah but there's a difference... this is full on but so simplistic... i think the type of full on people want is of higher complexity, depth, or feeling! not endless recycled formulas and hollywood movie samplers. Otto Matta
I hear ya. But at least it's something new, right? Perhaps it's just the reaction to minimal, a pendulum that has swung too far in the other direction, and where it stops will be what everybody actually wants, which is good ol' melodies on top of phat beats. Guest bugbread
Hopefully it's a start...Though I won't be superhappy until I see either Pelinpala or Haltya in the top 10. However (irrelevant to all the people here), there's a small organizer here in Japan who has teamed up with the Finns to make a joint Japanese-Finn psy label, and their parties are going to ROCK! So at least one country will have hypermelodic psy available for outdoor listening again.
Guest Elfie
option C for me, we have all albums on that list and i don't understand what is wrong, everybody has a different taste, and thank god we have, otherwhise life would be pretty boring:p

Guest Tittelin Tuure
Wait a minute! You are talking this music like it was made by Britney Spears or somebody like that! But it will be soon if we won t do something!! I have all those albums and believe me, there are better, much better albums! People buy what Psy-shop sales and says is good! Alien project:" This is the BEST album of the year", they say, and i think that it is not! Why they say it is, when year ain t over yet? Is TIP That big label? Did they get paid for saying that? Use your brains and you will get more out from this "genre". And it is true. allmost everything sounds like GMS or then they try to sound like infected...But thank god not everything! I think we should not buy records from psy-shop. Not before they can offer better music, or at least tell people that there is something more what they advertise... That proggressive shit must be easy do.Why else there is so many records of that? It is not dum who fucks, they are dum who get fucked! Money talks in this kind of music too! Full-on I say!! Let the good times roll!!=) (Where did I get that idea? Maybe i m loosing it!) Psydrop is, by the way, awesome!
