Lemmiwinks Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 So I remember a time on Psynews where there was no competition: Simon Posford was GOD and there were people on this forum who were so fanatical about it that they were prepared to personally take a plane to anywhere where someone didn't think so and kick their asses... HOWEVER I see things changing these days. So who is the new king? Quote
Anoebis Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Derango Naah, today there is a pretty wide range of all kinds of music-style-lovers here Quote
furthur Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 i think it is a good sign that there is not one person that dominates the scene of course bill russell was a fun and fascinating persona to follow, but basketball just wasn't as much fun back then, because he dominated so much. ok, granted, the analogy sucks, but i stand by my argument Quote
Insejn Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 i think it is a good sign that there is not one person that dominates the scene 521640 But it is Quote

abasio Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 i think it is a good sign that there is not one person that dominates the scene of course bill russell was a fun and fascinating persona to follow, but basketball just wasn't as much fun back then, because he dominated so much. ok, granted, the analogy sucks, but i stand by my argument 521640 I agree. Not sure of basketball but I get the reference. Same happened with Tiger Woods in golf. He was the God, unbeatable for a while, but everyone else raised the games to try and compete. Now psy trance isn't a competition but posford did dominate for a while. Do you think everyone else raised there game or he dropped off the high pace he set? Quote
Insejn Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 not sure if understand what you mean might be a language barrier thingy 521647 Heh, I meant that to me there is one person dominating the scene. That might not be enough to make him God in the scene since I suppose there aren't much people agreeing on that he is dominating. Quote
Guest antic Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 His name is Matthew De Nobrega. Heh, I meant that to me there is one person dominating the scene. That might not be enough to make him God in the scene since I suppose there aren't much people agreeing on that he is dominating. You must be joking! Derango's music is good, but far from being divine If there is a god of psytrance, it's either Colin OOOD or Billy Cosmosis - they both have new albums in pipeline and I expect getting a promo-copy for the statement above No, but seriously - there's lots of talented producers in every psy-trance subgenre, even in full-on and it's really pointless trying to name just one... Insejn Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You must be joking! Derango's music is good, but far from being divine 521654 I never said anything about Derango in this thread. Quote
Guest antic Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I never said anything about Derango in this thread. 521655 Oh sorry, I assumed it was him because of Anoebis' reply Anyways, Derango or Artifact - still no God for me! Quote
Guest antic Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 (edited) Never assume anything. 521659 I assume you're talking from your experience? [edit] Fuck, I missed my 666th post Edited May 5, 2006 by antic Quote
Otto Matta Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I'm honestly expecting Ka-Sol to make a profound stir - finally. Go, Christer, go! 10 days and counting... Quote
Insejn Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I assume you're talking from your experience? 521667 hahaha Well played Quote
Xochi Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Jannis? (filteria) hes hit the scene big time, and very popular with lots of people oh no wait.... I changed my mind its SKAZI!! Quote
Dajek Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I have pretty much lost interest in psytrance. So I don't know.. I don't see any bright talents in the scene that are making something unique and enjoyable. In psy(ish) chill however there is still hope. Which is nice =) Quote
robbierabbit Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You people really don't have anything else to do, do you? Quote
Anoebis Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You people really don't have anything else to do, do you? 521680 Well, I am in school... during a great course... (while it is summer outside! argh, frustrating) Quote
Xochi Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You people really don't have anything else to do, do you? 521680 I am at work....working *ahem* Quote

traveller Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Simon is still teh god! There are some other good ones ofcourse.. but St Posford remains teh ultimate Quote
Basilisk Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Derango, Midi Miliz, Ticon... all candidates for "hottest act on the scene" right now imho... I dunno about this god stuff - maybe because I'm more of an agnostic listener Quote
