Bahamut
Gimme 5 awesome melodic tracks from the last 5 years. I want energetic music with uplifting dramatic melodies (not happy). With a powerful and warm sound in the lower frequencies! Not too much thin and harsh sounds in the high frequencies. No progressive, dark psy, fullon or whatever. Just melodic trance. thx 8)
Tatsu
I'd say try the album Retrofuturism by Benza. Especially track 2 6 and 8 when I remember right. Maybe also the Khetzal album, but I can't recommend you one of the tracks since I've only listened to the album once so far. Protoculture's new album is also promising judging from the samples. Maybe also Planum - Elaborate, gave it a short listen at the shop and bought it after that.

Tatsu
You might also try the Positive Alchemists Vol. 1 compilation. Very nice melodic psy, maybe too full-on for you? Try the first track by Goma, it's amazing!

RAH
Suria - Victory (Deja Vu) Freaking - Depravation chambers (Inpyside) - if there was ever such a thing as morning, melodic dark trance is this Ka Sol - Just Another Riot (sanaton) Pop Stream + Alt Control - Electrical Tones (Soular) - i don't listen to to this no more.. but i can apreciate quality Electrypnose - Oz (peak) U-recken - Lost Paradise (doof) nice arabic melodic full on, very interesting
Lemmiwinks
I know what you're saying man, it seems like outright impossible to find decent melodies in psytrance these days... the ONLY artist that comes close is Khetzal (check out the tune starting around 5:00 in Listening Winds or the one starting at 4:30 in Anamatha) now THAT's how psytrance SHOULD sound like IMO... HOWEVER I have found new hope in what I call "morning dark psy": basically a crossblend between uplifting morning melodies and the ultra-fast hard dark trance bassline. Sure, it's not as deep as Khetzal but there are some nice atmospheres, best example of this IMO being the melody starting 4:00 in Psyfactor - Frear Square. I sure hope more artists will give us stuff like this in the near future also, this in a completley different league, but if you liked the little melodies in Atmos - Headcleaner a few years ago, chances are high you'll like Shiva Chandra - Midi Kill (Medical Remix) as well. No oldschool here but I found myself smiling and nodding my head like silly

Lemmiwinks
well I loved CS - Sinking Sand too when it first came out but my main issue with it was that there wasn't anything new in there, CS were still doing the same thing that they have for 10 years. It's good but some progress never hurt anyone

Tatsu
Another album you just have to check out: Planum - Elaborate. Very nice melodic tracks with a lot variations in the songs. Innovate, Disco Planum and The Lost Music are my favourites so far. One of the best albums I've heard for quite a long time.
