Basilisk
so what do you think of atomic's new releases, including the updata, atakama, and synchro 12"s as well as the new imprint atomic reactor? i've heard all of them in shops or from online samples now and i don't quite understand... none of it sounds remotely like what i'm used to from this label - just a lot of interchangeable club-oriented sounds as far as i can tell... is this the end, or do you suppose we'll still be treated to some psychedelic treats from this label's great artists? Guest Fiba Optix
off the radar, I'd say more like lost the plot! Apparantly they are moving into a more "progressive" sound which to me sounds like a cheap way to sellout! They want to begin to market to the club scene/sound therefore psy doesn't fit into the larger plan anymore. Hopefully the artists like Dino, Tim Schuldt, Spies, Psychaos etc won't be influenced & if they are, will leave Atomic in their dust! Guest ukiro
I think atomic 020 (the atakama EP) was brilliant. Really excellent stuff. It's the first atomic release I've bought since 009 I think. Regarding Tim Schuldt, I can promise you there is no hint of clubbiness there. I heard him live this weekend and it was banging guitar mayhem as usual. Oh, and Psychaos is no more. Joti now releases music under his real name, Joti Sidhu. Could be a change of direction, haven't heard enough recent stuff to tell.
Guest Fiba Optix
Ukiro, I agree about Tim Schuldt & Joti - those guys will never lose sight of full-power trance. its just a shame that a once great label has decided to take a backwards step IMO.
