Guest dEc-0-y
i have heard a few releases lately that have been quite intelligent and innovative but most stuff coming out just sounds soooo cliche, old, and been done . where is the new stuff, stuff using new euiptment in new ways making new sounds, new melodies that dont sound like any others, new surprises, and new ways to use samples!!!!! is there any sign of intelligent life dEc-0-y

Guest peaceful warrior
I would say that the new Saiko-pod album "Futures and Options" is very intelligent. I think this and a few others are "it" for me at the moment. If anyone knows of any other music similar to this, please comment.
Guest Goagabba
Well if we're talking innovation give Loopus in Fabula a try on Demon Tea Recs. Really new, funky chunky hunk of psy love. peaceful warrior: Here's a shot in the dark, but have you heard the Tromesa album on Spiral Trax Int. yet? Guest russ
The freshest sounds these days are coming from Mark Allen and Tim Healey, as Quirk, Allen and Healey, Hopefiend, Dallas Kiss, Electric Tease, etc. It's not trance, it's not house, it doesn't matter what it is. It's just damn good.

Guest bugbread
I second the recommendation for Loopus in Fabula (though their live show was terrible), and would add: Pelinpala Haltya Incredibly good stuff that doesn't sound much like anything else. Guest Peaceful Warrior
What is Kiwa like? I haven't had the chance to hear it yet. I have'nt really heard the Tromesa album either. What is it like? I definitely agree with those who said Loopus in Fabula is awesome stuff. What else guys?
Järsimähäiriö
Kiwa is breakbeats = me no like dem. Cool live, though.
Guest bugbread
Kiwa is a bit breakbeat oriented, and kinda "general Finnish", with some silly songs, some straightforward psy, etc. Kinda plain, in my opinion. Tromesa, by the way, is a TOTALLY different kind of psy than the Finnish stuff. Some of it is very minimal/progressive, but they use some jazz trumpets on one of their songs, and jazz drums on another. In my opinion, those are the only songs that really stick out. The rest is great if you're into minimal, but very repetetive if you're more of a Finn style fan.
Guest Gallen
As you said Russ-sexy trance, yeah right-I think you have lost it now!

Guest stringtheory
Hey Peaceful Warrior....I read that Saikopod has alot of clubby elements in the music. Is that true ?? I mean I would assume the production is top notch, because come on...we are talking about KoxBox here :-) Hey PW....check out Process:Superior Technology....Crazy, wacked out stuff. Very original and very unique.
Guest pete s
I´d like to point out that Kiwa isn´t "typical finnish" stuff at all in my opinion, far from it. Maybe in their older stuff but have you heard the new album, Dreamtime Enhancer? Not something anybody can come up with. It´s definitely a lot more intelligent than most of the finnish artists I´ve heard and even compared to the international level. Totally kickin´the ass material!!! One of the best albums in a long loong time..... recommend it to everyone. This is what psychedelic dance music should sound like!
