Guest Lunar Man
After being to Samothrakifestival, psy-trance started to be intressting again..Very good full on releases with very GOOD melodies, but there is one BIG problem (at least for me)..Talamsca, Astrix, Alien Project, Nomad, GMS and some more are the ones i am talking about...the use good drums and percussion, nice melodies and good samples..my problem is the bassline..sure, it's killerbassline but all the tracks sounds the same because of this..it's the same sort of bassline, the way the accents and the slides go is the same and even the frequency and the cut Off is the same (have all the guys sampled it from eachtoher or what the fuck is going on??)...this make the music kind of boring after a while...i mean listen to Alien Project new album ,then listen to talamasca and then listen to a astrix track..you find any difference on the bassline? I don't... Lunar

Guest space^madness
#10 they use the same samples over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. did i say they use the same samples over and over and over and over and over and over and over again? does this start to sound boring when i say they use the same samples over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again? i don't care because you're still reading what i'm telling you about they use the same samples over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. loop #10 $$
Guest Protex Midget
dude - i know exactly what you mean! A few weeks ago I was at a great party, and Micky (from psycho-micro), played a killer 3 hour full-on set... everybody was dancing like crazy in the middle of nature, and everything seemed great, but then i noticed that all the tracks that he was playing had the same bassline... you know, that GMS, Nomad, Alien Project style bassline... it's strange, and yet, it's so pumping that you just can't stop dancing! If you guys are wandering what kind of bassline i'm talking about - then just listen to "GMS - Spliffpolitics", from their new album, and you will see what I mean. Guest Lunar Man
space^madness: you sound sick..maybe you should get some sleep.. Mijis: it's not the same guys behind these projects.. Protex: that was extacly what i meant ..the bassline is awesome but get's boring after 1-2 years of use... Lunar

Guest Protex Midget
Reece> why are you suprised? Mickey always plays high-tempo full-on music... have you ever heared him play different music? i've been to at least five parties where Micky-Micro was playing, and he always plays this style of music. Guest andrejcid
almost all u guys have over-generalized the psytrance!!! lunar man i agree with your statement and conclusion about the artists u mentioned till some extent but that is not what psy trance is all about. gms, talamasca, nomad, asrix, alien project...are not the only psytrance producers because there are many many other good psy artists, that might have more originaliti in their music. since u like psy, try other artists as well such as weirdo beardo, miraculix, shift, digital talk, soundaholix, mandukya, prodigal sun, dark nebula......... however i like gms, astrix, alien project, nomad, talamasca and all the others u mentioned i can not totally agree the basline is exactly the same but obviously very similar, and still they bring some inovations in their music(samples melodies...) that trip me and make my time during their sets interesting! what i'm trying to say is that the music as a whole produces the effect, not the bassline only, because from the artists u mentioned, there are some tracks i can dance on and some i can't although the bassline is similar. every track, with or without same bassline, has a seperate direction of mooving, and this mooving and triping on sounds(not only bassline) is the trance music. at least that is how it affects me cheers
Guest andrejcid
i forgot to mention something that 1 had comented on: 1 u can not say that those artists(astrix, gms...) produce old school goa, so u have confused a bit maybe
