Guest ews
Where is the soul in psytrance nowadays? I'm heavily into all kinds of psytrance (everything from techtrance to oldskool-goa). I've been listening to things like Antix, new GMS, Atmos, housy techstuff etc etc. Today, I had no music on my laptop computer, so I started looking on mp3.com for some artists. I put on some old and new Battle of the future buddhas (long time since I used to listen to them). Wow, this is the music I like.. It has a SOUL.. Most of the music produced today lacks something. Like the production measures the quality of the music, which is wrong IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I like X-Dreams new album, but it ain't "true" psychedelic music somehow. Music today is like "wow, this sounds cool" after listening 10-20 seconds. But it ain't taking you nowhere, mentally... I can see a change in the scene now though: More oldskoolish material is coming out again, played at festivals (Voov for instance). Im happily looking for forward for more "true", "non-shiny, non-flashy" music again. Music directly from the artists head - not from the "production studio". I really hope more people feels like me, we need more emotions in the music and parties! No Uppsala-fest this year

Guest Zero T. H.
I totally agree with you, but the music that you talk about already exists IMHO... try to listen releases of "young" labels like Apoxina, Parvati, Demon Tea, or Timecode... that's true psychedelic trance for me! boom
Guest bugbread
Yep...You're looking for an underground vibe in mainstream releases (GMS, etc.). Ya gotta look to the less popular areas of psy to find the gems (Parvati, Demon Tea, etc. etc. etc.)

Guest 1
i agree need more soul. mind expanding emotional morning melodies and samples. i never found demon tea to be this way however... just sounds like a dissonant mess of mentally retarded/disturbed sounds to me. Guest Goagabba
But if you want a good underground sound, try any release from Doof Records in Israel. I'd recommend Triund, the new comp. Bom

Guest bugbread
Good point. If you want deep / emotional, Finland / Australia are not the place to go. Still, I'm sure in the same way that there is underground craziness in Demon Tea / Parvati, there is underground deepness and beauty in some other label. Anyone know? Guest Shiva Shampa
... there is no soul ,not so lot like it was before, and there is no Goa... emptiness, thats what it is.
Guest stringtheory
GMS has no soul. GMS is formula driven. GMS is boring. I like great production. Moreover, a release can be from the heart, can have melody, and still have great production.......Umm....anything by Hallucinogen comes to mind.
