Guest Mijis
i have a question : how much i have to pay to a label to make a remix? where can i find (web site) all the legal information?
Guest andy
dont know what the officail answer is but i would do the remix then if its any good approach the label? if its good they might pay you for it? be interested to hear ep's opinion on i though - you ever done this yourself kristian - i thought it might be the artist you might need to approach cause they still retain the sort of artistic rights to the track - i might be wrong there - just speculating:) l8ers
Basilisk
this web site needs an advice column - "ask elysium project" 'hey e.p., my goldfish is looking sick and is in fact floating at the top of his tank, WHAT SHOULD I DO???' Guest wouter
I have another question for Kristian. I have this old Symbiosis recs. EP by Esylium - Ride the snake (used to be one of my all time fave tracks!) and Undercover Mission one. Written by C. Anderson & G. Wood (Graham Wood I presume - whatever happened with that guy?) Is that you as well?
Guest Elysium Project
lol... please no advice colum :-) ok here we go: mijis I honestly do not think there is such an website. At least I don't know of any. But. You should just go ahead and do the remix and as andy said then approach the label with the remix and see what they say. It's a chance to take but it might turn out to your favour. I once did try to get an approval from Arista Records in America to do the remix for Visage's "Fade to Grey" and the label agreed but they had to say no in the end because the band at that time had a clause sayin no to all remixes. I also once came close to doing a remix for Yello but in teh end they decided to do it themselves. So it is as andy says in the end up to the artist to approve the remix. But go ahead and have fun :-) to wouter: Yes that "12. was done by me (Ride The Snake) and Graham Wood (T.I.P) and I with the track "Undercover Mission One". I haven't talked to Graham for a while but as far as I know he's doing stuff for the 10 Kilo label with a couple of different projects. I also think he's busy doing music on some more mainstream labels but I am not sure as what.

Guest wouter
I don't think it's available anymore, considering both the label and distributor (Flying UK) ceased to be a long time ago. I bought it when it was released...about 6 years ago I think Maybe you're lucky and come across it in some second hand store. BTW I have most Elysium releases and about 4 crates full of early Goa trance on vinyl. Cool to see most of it are collectors items now. Just proud of my collection, I don't mean to show off or anything....(OK I do a little harharhar 8)
Basilisk
records may be out of print but i find them sooner or later the only biggie i haven't found is x-dream's radio for any reasonable price... and some complete rarities like pharagonescia - pharatropic (on spark records).. old school, terrible production, but i really like it anyway so shoot me! i want that spiritual 12" despite not knowing whats on it for sure.. but hey EP i'll for sure keep an eye out for doubles. (i'm half certain i'd find every record i need if i travelled to the UK and hunted around).......
