alpha
well... i'd say hallucinogen's twisted is pretty essential.. also pleiadians - ifo, x-dream - radio, total eclipse - violent relaxation etc etc of course you should only purchase albums you like yourself... but the ones i mentioned pretty much everybody likes. Guest ben
you must have shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible shpongle - Are You Shpongled?
Guest ironmonkey
The only essential albums are those that you enjoy. So, the question is what do you enjoy? Figure that out by sampling a lot of different artists/styles and acquire those that you like. My problem is that I enjoy so many different types/styles. As a result I have so much music that some discs I haven't listened to in a year or more.
Guest Whiney
The landmark albums are the essential ones.. here's what I think.. Brian Eno - Music For Airports Hallucinogen - Twisted Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom Shpongle - Are You Shpongled Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible Violet Vision - First Sign of Communication Entheogenic - Entheogenic Kiwa - Dreamtime Enhancer [i know it's new, but definetly a landmark IMHO]
Guest Zaramatu
I would add Ozric Tentacles album "Waterfall Cities" to that list too. And maybe "The Hidden Step" as well. Porcupine Tree's "Voyage 34" also deserves to be in any collection.
