travbrad1001
Lifeforms and Dead Cities are pretty much equally amazing, but i think lifeforms just a little bit better. None of their other albums have come close to those 2, although they still have some good stuff FSOL is some of my favorite music of all time, great stuff
Cinos
Lifeforms & Ephidrina are the best. Also, whoever said Orbital weren't as good - The Girl With The Sun In Her Hair, Halcyon & On & On, Remind, Lush 3-1, etc.

However, do not compare 'em to FSOL. It's just not fair. And ehm: maybe you meant: the girl with the sun in her head?

seraph
Why not compare them to FSOL? They're just as good. 616363[/snapback] Coz they are not even making the music in the same style, plus, it is silly to compare the masters, I can only compare the average ones between... Mindphilux
These guys don't interest me much anymore, but their 90's stuff was amazing. If they ever make another actual FSOL album again, i'll look forward to it. AA doesn't do anything for me (but i do like Tales of Ephidrina, of course)

Snapinho
Ok, a few months later and the collecter in me couldn't help it. Sorry. ISDN Lifeforms Accelerator Dead Cities AA's Tales of Ephidrina Cascade Expander Lifeforms My Kingdom We Have Explosive Papua New Guinea Papua New Guina: Translations Far Out Son of Lung and The Ramblings of a Madman I just had to have all of 'em. I don't care too much for Alice in Ultraland, the Isness or the Otherness... But man, are they all worth it. Those remixes: incredibly trippy. One of these days I'm gonna do a FSOL-only mix. Pure freaky psychedelia... I wonder if they ever really performed live somewhere? I've never heard people about it...
sleepingzombie
Top Tracks : Landmass Dead skin cells Antique toy First dead in the family Papua new guinea (and too many others) Top cds : Dead Cities and Lifeforms. Sorry Seraph, sometimes I play ISDN but I find very difficult to get into it. .I really can't stand all that drum'n'bass, but the passages with the piano are very good. Dead Cities is my fav cd because IMO in this cd they show their ability to play with different styles of music touching high levels of quality with every experiment . IMO FSOL can appeal different people in different ways, because their production is very caleidoscopic : they range from trance to ambient passing through different degrees . Two persons can say : yes, this is my fav cd by FSOL, but maybe they enjoy it in very different way . From Dead cities I love antique toy for its melanchonic appeal and amazing drum patterns, and First dead in the family because the first time I heared the punk guitar it just blowed my mind ... so I think that everyone can read FSOL in the way he likes most. That's because actually I agree that FSOL it's a matter that rests beyond tastes. To be honest, I discovered FSOL thanks to Wipe Out 2 soundtrack ... I like very much their song from that soundtrack (Landmass) but I never managed to find the cd/ep/whatever on which they have officially released it. Any hint ?
