CTO_gram
So, you all know what is fx, unless you don't know what is music making, he.... So i wanna ask, wich one is your favourite? if you could use only one, wich one it would be? For example i couldn't live without delay, i would quit music making without it... Malevol3nt
Oh I'd say the Ohm Force Ohmboyz Delay FX Plugin. It's primerly a delay plugin but with the right tweaking it can do lots of stuff, from reverbs to flanger. I really luv it.

Amygdala
Yeah delays are indespensible... Unless you want to play the same sequence a lot of times after each other, slightly damped - it could be done Reverbs are neat too. I use them mostly when making music other than psytrance. But I still use oceans of reverb in there... Right now my favourite is the phaser in my new (old!) Ensoniq SQ-R. It is completely out of this world, if you use it right, and turn the right knobs on the fly. Bitcrushing is nice too, and depending on whether you see it as synthesis or effect, I luuuurve amplitude modulation -A

double miu
i'm in love with vocoder...aint using it right now (coz there is no possibility on renoise) but when i used to use reason it was fuckin great think...i could vocode everthyng from synth, beats to whole song transiotions...yeah i have to find good vst vocoder !! next ... i think that talking about one fx is not so good as combinations for me reverb + delay will be always good especially for strings or sinusoidal melodies... try to make something like this ... reverse your loop (put on it flanger) then inverse put reverb (reverse again put on it any fx you want) then inverse and put delay shocking !! isnt it ?? CTO_gram
Ofcourse it's socking, but hey, it;s pretty old trick i think And double miu gived a great idea to talk about combinations May anybody could say something more about? Veracohr
All effects have their place, but I suppose I would have to say phase shifters and/or comb filters are my favorite. Not that they sound good all the time, though; one must use them sparingly. Vocoders are cool too. The only vocoder I have at my disposal is in Reason, but I like it for the fact that I can use anything I want as a carrier.

double miu
make a loop : whatever you want a melody (preferable) or beat.... then use cool edit or sth and make this stuff with waveform...i think now you know what i mean i think that i found nice combo today... psp84vst with shinobi caves (or something with caves) preset and some a lot of reverb (i didnt used it on synth only on samples fx but effect is very nice for me) something pseudo hallucinogen style when used on clap : clap after clap 1/8 or 1/16 dont remember coz using renoise - in renoise on every 4 row) descendind from c-5 co c-3 with a tiny varition in one moment soon in full version on my track you can hear it
CTO_gram
Could you drop that loop in yousendit or somewhere? it would be very interesting to hear

Zeyon
I just basically love my UAD-1 card. Really good plugs, if I have to point out some plugs it will be the RealVerb-Pro, Pultec EQ, Cambridge EQ & Roland Dimension D Chorus.

qa2pir
I must pick the reverb & delay (it's pretty much 2 versions of the same idea or purpose, right?) because it can give a song so much room. Other stuff necessary when making a 3D soundscape is the equalizer or filter and panning (which isn't really an effect but very important) My favorite "sounds cool" effect is probably Bitcrusher or the Gate.
