Expert help needed

I am thinking about setting up a website which aim is to support artists in many ways. It's not going to be about our "scene" but a site for all new and experienced artists no matter what genre they represent.

Here are some of the overall ideas:

1.

General legal advice from selected experts (lawyers) about contracts ect. - and positive/negative stories from artists.

2.

How to approach labels and make them listen to the music - again expert help and stories from artists.

3.

A forum where artists can ask questions (no matter what questions) and where experts in different fields will answer.

4.

A section about good books to buy about diferent related subjects and links.

5.

A section about where you can find different music organisations - such as copyright, musicians unions, legal advice, labels, booking agencies, promotors ect. (worldwide) and links - all according to genre.

This is just some of the sections I would like to add....More will come later.

If some of you know people (or maybe you are an expert yourself)? that would be interested in helping out (free of charge) both legal wise, technical wise in constructing a 110% effective forum ect. then please mail me at:

kthinning@email.dk

all help and ideas are appriciated.

I can give you addresses of things like the Musicians Union etc in the UK Kristian (if you don't know them already!). Technically though, my experience in web development is exceptionally minimal so I wouldn't be much help on that front :( It's a great idea though man, & if I can help in some other way I will :)

Sleep well ..

Well hoffman not that many experts will be needed...but some for sure :-)

I like to think that the site would support itself in the end and live of other artist experiences and advice.

I will deffinently appriciate your help Ilazi :-)

As for the website structure and design all is allready sorted (about who will design it - not how it will look) and it seem that I just have had some an very genrious offer from jaimz/Saiko Sounds to code and structure the forum part of the site - I am very happy for that.

But there are so many things that need to be done so all he lp will be appriciated. One thing as you mentioned is to offer artist cheap and professional design of covers and CD printing in the case they want to release their own material.

I have also decided that the site should be in the 4 major spoken languages (not the forum part but the sections that refer and link to other sites and the explanatory sections). So you see there will also be translation jobs to do and a lot of detective work in each individual country finding out about as much details as posible musicians rights, unions, labels, promotion, legal advice, shops, ect. ect.

Right now I am only at the "brainstorm" stage but when I feel confident that the idea really is something that could become a daily used tool for many artists and when my research prove that the project will be finacially sound (I have to find investors and some advertisers to make it all go around - I and no one else are going to make money out of it....it's 100% pro bono) then I will start the actual work and start to involve the people choosen for the project...Until then I am welcoming new ideas and feedback :-)

So peps....get those small grey braincells into gear :-))
