the gathering 10 out of 10

classical mushroom 7.5 out of 10

bp empire 4 out of 10

infected mushroom used to ooze quality. nowadays they tend to right awsome tunes but then in the middle of them just fuck them up with some high pitched, distorted 303, we liked the old stuff.....

I actually find B.P.Empire to be their best! I'm not that fond of C.M.

The Gathering is very good but I still like B.P.Empire best. It's just too bad that "Roll us a giant" wasn't included in B.P.Empire...

I'd have to say that The Gathering is a load of crap, 3/10 MAX. It is just really boring and sounds like try hard dark goa, the Independence Day sample at the star just makes me cringe, it is such a bad sample.

Classical Mushroom is wicked as far as freaky stuff goes, but I findthat even on a good sound system, the bass kicks could've been a bit harder, especially for the awesome Disco Mushroom.

Lastly, B.P Empire is wicked, it was the first album of their's I bought, when I was in Denamrk last year. It was a dream of hardcore beats, klots of new experiments in sampling and twisting, and good vibes, though a little mellow at times.

So I must say that depite what 'we' all say, I belive Infected have improved hugely every time, and will only get better, it is great to see a band progrssing so much, instead of sticking to the same ol dirty acid 303 sounds they began with, bring on the new I.M!!

Classical (9/10) and the Gathering (8.5/10) rule...some great trax I've played grey. BP Empire was hailed as progression but bored me to tears, no exceptional stuff, the same play-it-safe shit everybody else was doing at the time. Typical new psy with techno influences which didn't grab me at all. still 3/10. I gave the album away for free...didn't want it in my collection.

Trax like classical mushroom, the gathering, return shadows, bust-a-move, the shen...That is how I will remember the best psy artist of 1999-2000. They will have to release a damn good new album before they get serieus playtime with me again.

I can't understand how someone in there right mind can not love each and every album I.M. have put out. All 3 are masterpeices. I can go back and listen to them time after time and be utterly amazed. I have yet to hear another group put together songs that have such beatiful and unique melodies. In my oppion I.M. are the Kings of Psy Trance. I.M. downhill? I think not. Not even close.

The Gathering is a masterpiece, introduced a really new sound back then in 99 and had the dancefloors rocking (still works for me).

Classical Mushroom is an album that I never enjoyed, I don't like other instruments in psytrance/electronic music much, maybe a reason why I cannot stand the second shpongle either.

BP Empire is a nice album again I think, sometimes it gets a bit too much for me towards the end, but I think it has a very nice flow, one of those cds I could just put in there and let it run kinda as background music, nothing on there I would take up in a set though.

So from a (living room) dj point of view, the first one is a killer and when I used to play at a private party a bit back I enjoyed the reaction I got from a non-psy crowd when playing tracks like psycho :)

But what I have been hearing lately on compilations did not really make me very happy, doesn't do anything to me but bore me. They got their distinctive sound (still), nothing wrong with that, plenty of other artists do as well, but somehow they don't seem to find any exciting variations with it.

|Eva Dawn| should have been on BP Empire as well as Roll Us A Giant.

It would have improved that album enormeously. I'm not saying it is bad, they have never made a real bad album, but I dont think they have a made an epic album yet.

Ofcourze The Gathering introduced the IM-sound and rocked on the dancefloor, but soundwise it ain't so wellproduced as BP Empire is and in this particular case it messes up some of the listening pleasure.

Classical Mushroom was a step forward, but a weird one as a 'semi-classical' adventure is kinda unusual in psytrance. I do still think it stands out the other two in producing quality and great ideas, but somehow I don't feel completely satisfied with the progression of most songs on there.

BP Empire is a dark album, kind of like MFG- The Message. The talent and ideas are abundant on both those albums, but somehow it doesn't really twist into full weirdness these artists are known for. They are albums you can only enjoy after long listening sessions, but I fear will never grasp you emotionally. I fear the new album ( double-album) will dissapoint many people in the scene obviously because most people will only like a few tracks on such an album.

I do think BP Empire was a step forward in arrangements and a powersound which is darker than was usual for IM, but a step back in twists and emotional value.
