Guest sienis
Element´s new album is very melodic...tho a bit too cheezy for me ...exept for the first track 'Full Moon' which is kinda hypnotizing =)

Guest hippo
warning for all those who are looking into the new element album now: they have acquired a singer!!!!!!!
Basilisk
vocals/singing + psytrance/goa = no no please i hope this isnt the start of a trend... properly utilized synthesizers can say so much more in every language than one person can in one language
Guest chris
@ hippo and basilik: I disagree that vocals in psytrance are a no no. I would say all these film samples used thousands of times in nearly every psytrack are meanwhile no no. They are boring as hell. why not having some real vocals if they are working well and if it's perfect produced. In dark and rolling psytrance you can often enjoy sound schemes we all know very well from the old darkwave, gothic and industrial days in the eighties and nineties. Therefore psytrance I would say is coming back home, when it sounds a little bit like darkwave with real vocals (yes, element are established as producers in the wave scene as well). I enjoy the new element so much, no need to be afraid that all new releases will have then vocals in the future. The only other track which comes close to the element sound is "the summer is old" from emou. It is about 6 month old. I wouldn't say that there is a trend which starts.. chris
Guest Kristian
Well if you want vocals and trance try to get onhold of some of the todays' synthmusic like: http://www.vnvnation.com http://www.colony5.de http://www.assemblage23.com http://www.echoimage.com http://www.iconofcoil.com http://www.hocico.net All with a higher tempo, vocals and becoming very much influed by the oldschool trance sound. To be honest I prefer todays' synth before todays' trancemusic.
Guest scalar
Vocals in trance can work very well indeed, its just a case of wether the artist in question has TASTE. examples good: M.O.S. - Drive entire album Vibrasphere - Echo Plantation Psysex - Survival Kit (just about OK) Altom - Hologram (the track) Early Wizzy Noise ECT - Sqwark Mumbo Jumbo - Weird, Strange, Sick, Twisted Necton - There ain't no answers Buzzmonks - R U Insane Deviant Electronics - Vesuvius examples bad: Necton - The Awakening Talamasca - Beyond the mask (sorry the music is great but BAAAD samples) Infected Mushroom The Gathering/Classical Mushroom not BPEmpire Cosmosis - Just say no (I love what he does WITH the sample, I just don't like the sample) Anything with samples from the GODDAM matrix Dark Soho - Madnesss Logic Bomb - Future Uncertain GMS - Medieval Times (why????? This track would be perfect otherwise) well thats my rant over! As for good melodic trance from this year - only spend your hard earned cash on fractal glider and alien project. Guest veridia
I dunno, I only like a few tunes here and there from that sound... Assemblage23 - Dissapoint is incredible though... as are some tracks from VNV's empires album... I like the real vocal trance sound better than the new synthpop sound... but it's a tad too mainstream for most people... However I will mention Position High on MP3.com, I like them a lot... That's pretty much defines the vocal trance sound I like... I like movie & show samples in psytrance, and whatever other synth genres they are found... Although Matrix is getting a tad old now.
