So, I've decided to only buy *masterpieces*

Cinos

Recommended Posts

As in, no "good" CDs. Nothing to get me even more material possessions I never use.

This has the added consequence that I'm weeding out everything that doesn't classify as a masterpiece from my collection - and that's about 90%. :P

Including ifo, green nuns, rainbirds etc. Once I'm getting back to Sale/Trade those all go.

Anyway. Isn't it a good idea to only keep physical copies of the very best ones? Yes, I know it is.

Trentemoller should be in your collection then.

You can get it off Amazon.

I didn't like it enough.

Examples of true masterpieces, IMO:

Shpongle - Are You Shpongled?

Ulver - Lyckantropen Themes

Tool - Lateralus

Mystery Of The Yeti - S/T

Chicane - Far From The Maddening Crowds & Behind The Sun

BT - ESCM

and so on.

good for you .

Really, it is. You just wish you could be as free as me. :P

Yay, that rhyme was unintentional. Totally sensational.

Bottom line: collecting: human hamster nature or is the actually a point to it?

I agree. People collect far too much, and the majority seldom collect because they will 'use' what they'e collecting, but collect so they can look at it, or show it off to their friends, or because they have too much disposable income.

I budget for the fact that Im a pot head, yes.

Its under "recreation".

I always put a very large portion of my salary towards recreation. Whats the point in living / working if you aint gonna have any fun?

If you only listen to the "masterpieces" of which there are of course very few then won't you get bored of them?

Also you will lose out on a lot of great music as a lot of albums have great tracks + good tracks & might not be considered a masterpiece even if some of the tracks are. Savvy?

Dunno. <.<

But yeah, I'm not going to stop downloading music and such. Just not wasting money on more that the really exceptional ones. (and keeping my "stuff" amount down the same way)

my advice would be .. don't do it...

u might feel that way now but years from now u will probably regret it...

just keep those cds cause ur tastes will change over time and u just might like some cds more...

i got rid of lots of cds some years back, now i wish i did not have...
