is there a link bewteen cocain & progressive, and acid & goa ?

 

i mean, why is there progressive? because people snort more coke? (music managers ? producers ? makers ?)

 

progressive isn't half as psychedelic as goa, so, has it to do with the drugs ?

Haha, I never thought about it that way. I've seen dj's doing coke at psy parties and people doing acid at prog parties/raves. I don't think the drugs have anything to do with it. Just my two cents.

 

BTW, both drugs are bad for you. Didn't your mom ever tell you to stick to weed and shrooms (and peyote, salvia, dmt...*huff huff*...)? Tsk tsk! hehehe...

generalisations suck balls, there is quite some progressive psy out there that is far more psychedelic than most of the predictable hitformula full on coming out these days .. if you would actually dare to listen without prejudice even you might discover a few glimpses of it!

 

i must admit that i'm not a big fan of progressive at all, but the links and generalisations you're making are as absurd, ridiculous and closeminded as one can get ..

 

my personal guess though would be that you just get a kick from provocating if you want to start a flamewar i would really suggest you to download this kickass game instead of wasting your time on the forum

I'd say for the hundreth time that as all music that is considered 'psychedelic' that there are drugs involved, usually hallucinogens. Dunno about coke and progressive, maybe progressive is just an evolved form of goa??

Don't feel too bad, I used to say the same thing all the time when bitching to other melodic fans about the state of psy nowadays. But after meeting some people who don't use C and who like that music, AND have good tastes, I've determined that, like Vegemite or fermented bean paste, it's good, I just hate it.

 

I have a friend with AWESOME musical tastes, but who hates psy, so I guess it's the same kinda thing. Unfortunately, that leads to stuff like me admitting that "Backstreet Boys music is just as good as Shpongle, but I don't like it." Ugh. Now I'm gonna have nightmares.

whether you like it or not i think that a lot of progressive music does have a link to cocaine as it runs with a similar feel, cruises along then explodes at the end. not just prog-trance but also prog-rock...

 

same goes for psychedelic trance having a link to PSYCHEDELIC drugs, hence the name.

but what i meant, and yes maybe this discussion has been discussed before, that progressive tends to be more music for the ego (that's what i see when dancing, i see more serious faces, more "cool" faces, more face that are aware of themselves) , the spiritual element is gone (at full on, you see people dancing with BIG smiles, not knowing they're there, that's the way it should be)...
