technosomy Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 has anyone purchased it yet from avatar? or has anyone heard it? as well as the riddle of santa catherina, sounds promising thanks Quote
Rotwang Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Would also like to know if it's any good. For some reason saiko sounds still has no knowledge of its existence, even though it was released yesterday according to Avatar's website. Quote
lumpi Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Have you heard the first Nommos album? I think this one sounds almost exactly the same. And as the first one this could get a bit boring as well if you're forced to listen to the whole album in one shot. Definitely not a must have imo Quote
exotic Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Is it the new nommos album or a dj mix of his like the 'karmageddon' ?? i am very anxious to hear if its the latter coz his tracks arent that good .. It's always better if he's collecting tracks from different artists and mixing it. Quote
andonis Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 It's an album of his own tracks. Maybe it is kinda boring as a cd but this should work as a dj tool I guess (haven't heard it yet). Quote
amphiton Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I liked the samples... it's good and stands out in the dark territory. Quote
amphiton Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 yeah i love goa gils mixin' too 626720 Well, that doesn't have anything to do with this album. I like your mixing too. Quote
Rotwang Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 It's been on saikosounds for days, but still no audio samples. GRR! Quote
Rotwang Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Just got it in the post yesterday. First impressions are good. I will write a review at some point if I get round to it, for now I'll just note that it's essentially an entire album based on the "In the Shadow" template, which I think is a good thing. Quote

Quote
Rotwang Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 what do you mean by that being based on what? 654010 I mean that most tracks on the album are in a similar vein to the Nommos' track "In the Shadow" which was on Goa Gil's mix album "Karmagedon" from last year. Quote

Individually the tracks on digitaria are cool... as an album I thought it wastful... in the shadow does happen to be a stellar track mind you... hmmm... Quote
Rotwang Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 so... all the tracks sound like in the shadow like on digitaria everything sounded like here he comes? Individually the tracks on digitaria are cool... as an album I thought it wastful... in the shadow does happen to be a stellar track mind you... hmmm... 654050 Well the tracks on the album do sound kind of samey*, though I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing for this kind of music; Gil himself says that his music is for meditation and I can imagine this album working well for that. It sounds different to other dark albums that are out there, which I think is important. *This is only my first impression though, and may well change over time. Quote
zaib Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 the nommos' tunes on va - night tribe were very nice, though i suppose their style won't please the strictly wham-bam-in-yo-face-ma'am crowd Quote
Rotwang Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Having had this album for a few weeks I can confidently say that it is splendid. Hope to write a review soon if I have time. Quote
