Strumpling
Are there any specific types of effects/sounds that really "do it" for you? What are they? Do you know how they're made? Can you put into words what the sound/effect resembles? Can you describe what this sound/effect "does" to you? -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
Strumpling
Of course, let's stay away from answers like "Stuff I've never heard before" types of answers!

Guest JanUa
from work? ...i'm about ready to go to sleep... my favorit sound is the organic, farting wet-rubber noise get it .. . . . . .? example ... the first noise you hear in psy-sex :amphitamaniacs that sort of sound is my all-time favorit..... and i like frogg sounds to and that sound in deviant species :druidic endevours... it reminds me of the movie "the gods most be crazy" those bush people speak some sort of language ,know what i mean?...imagin an alien trying to speak this language and you have the sound they created in that song.... listen to it after work.... enough ? hOOOOoooi
Guest JanUa
if you don't know the language i mean... imitate a walking horse ...that sort off language ... got it now ?
Guest mE
I like it when the Buzzing sounds decline in pitch and but remain with the rytham... they decend. you can hear them comming twared you from above... kinda like berw beeer beeeep beeep beerwww werew were woo woo woooo woooooooaaahhh.. yeah thats IT! lol And there was this one sound a while back that was incredibly 3 dimentional i can't remember which artist or track it was but i posted about it here a month or 2 ago... It was like a more advanced kinda synth sound. very 3 dimentional ... made me visiualize a metal sphere...hope that artist someday makes a billion of those quality of sounds and fills a goa track with em... thats what we need. more advanced synthetic beeps and buzzes. Strumpling
What drives me up the wall is when somebody takes ONE sound and makes it do so many different things that it takes a few listens to realize that it's all one sound. It's the same type of thing they do in that kox-box track there the guy says "My Country is a State of Mind" and it loops over and over slowly morphing to "Aaoooouuuuuu......... AAAAAOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU" WHen they do thoes types of things with a soudn effect, not just a sample, I find it very entertaining. Having a little chirping noise turn into the bassline or something..... Transformation! That's what "does it" for me. Guess it could be looked at as the sound "evolving" into something else, huh? we LOVE evolution. when they toy with voices it's really cool too. ANY toying with somebody's voice is usually quite entertaining. Some good voice-fucking going on in Mystery of the 13 Crystal Skulls on the doof track and the Shpongle track as well. -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-
Guest Elysium Project
a long mother fucking dubby effect does it to me :-)
Guest lÿsërgïç
i like "growly" synth sounds. of course this can be found in GMS tracks. and also in Infected Mushroom - Blue Muppets. those sounds really amp me up and also i love the "wet" sound i think JanUa was talking about. its kind of squelchy and to me it sounds like its made of liquid. 303 is always good aswell. that "woow" type sound. after a build up, when it breaks into a crazy acid line, that is pure sonic energy! and.. a sound ive noticed in quite a lot of old-style melodic goa, like Astral Projection. hard to explain this one, but its in Mahadeva, and it sounds kind of hollow, and its a main part in a lot of goa melodies. Guest etherdesign
Um. silly question.. every sound is psychedelic.. just think.. everything that is true must make you laugh, and everything that you understand is true must make you cry.. (ripped from ra wilson and r shea).. if you expect no sound, every sound is intense and psycehedelic.. and for those on the anti-pop kick.. listen to every nano second.. can you do that? i agree most pop is fodder nowadays, but the first time you hear it pretend you don't understand the words.. if it's still crap, it's crap.. and it is to me too.. words are @!#$.. words are subjective experience (except in few cases of gnosis).. is psy gnosis for you? (hehe psygnosis, shadow of the beast.. anyone like amiga games?) er.. anyways.. there is a sound in everything, even silence, (though true silence does not exist outside of sensory deprivation tanks and death) is beauty.. don't think about what you are listening to, it's easy with psy since all the sounds are so different from which is one is used to hearing (minus the 4/4 beat of course, and who here denies that? it is a terminal beat, our heart beats a constant rhythm, but our lives play out constant melodies and chaotic sounds..) In essence I cannot describe 'it', nor can anyone who has heard 'it'.. a different sound touches and resonates with everyone.. everyone here like goa/psy, but the frequencies that it presents us with is like none before.. to each their own in the truest sense.. Guest pesito
YEAH...WELL i like a lot the kind of arpegiatted melodies, i like to hear slow moans and phased trippy sounds. and i also like very much the feeling of the "strobe paused sounds" and melodies, if It explains, i think sometimes its done with the LFO. but when on acid, i allways enjoy the sound of a piano or an acoustic guitar once in a while... psychedelia
Guest pollywick
That haunting synth sound in Tim Shuldts/4 carry nuts stuff. Defies everything
Guest lifeform
I like really WET basslines with a Random LFO set to a quarter note or 16th note.. like in Beast - Spawn.. and the synth that that song ends with to.. Just sounds like a strand of liquid being plucked or something. Where you can hear the notches in the pulse width... and... Square wave sounds when the pulse width is jacked up. and Space Tribes really 'effed up modulation tweaks. like in "So Deep" at the very end. And most of all the ones that make me laugh cause it sounds so fuking cool.
Tatsu
i like it when the melodie starts to scream, like mushi mush from infected mushroom or a part in symphonatic also from im. i don't know how you make this effect, maybe its 303? and i also like the effect in the melody of yahel's for the people. but i really no nothing about music making so don't know how they did it.. Guest JanUa
that sound in symphonatic is great! i think it's just some guitar with an effct on it , but it blows my mind to ..... . . . .
Guest JanUa
oh, and Matt .you like when they toy with voices....so you must like psy-sex in the bionic bong 2001 rmx they 'toyed' with a sample from somewhere end they ended up with all these different characters saying a part of that sentence........ it's like the guy who's saying it is scitzophrenic. reminds me of 'the exorcist' . . . hoi
Guest Mugge
Drums.... rythms, LFOed sounds and dub effects. It's also very nice with some twisted voice samples.
Strumpling
lÿsërgïç and JUANA (;-)), Shpongle does a wet type of sound in ...and day turned to night near the middle of the track - very well done, sounds very "organic" -=- Matt/Strumpling -=-

Guest lÿsërgïç
Soulhunter - if u like that guitar riff, then u should check out 'The Groupie Syndrome - Pacemaker'. that is a kick ass track, with a similar sounding guitar and a WICKED acid line.
