Guest r2d2 Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 Has anyone ever heard of Lab4 from England (I think)? If so, how do they sound? Any info is greatly appreciated. Quote
Guest Mike Indidginus Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 Yes. They have gone down the hard house root, so you generally won't find much information on them on psytrance sites. Their web site is http://www.lab4.com Quote
DeathPosture Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 Also, for other hardtrance related stuff, parties, shop, etc check out Torture Garden I have a bunch of their releases.... From my hardtrance phase... ;o) Btw, Lab4 are great... ;o) DeathPosture Quote
Guest bugbread Posted October 6, 2002 Posted October 6, 2002 Lab4 jump up and down a LOT when they play live. Even more than the drummer for SUN Project. Recently it seems they are really speeding their music up. I saw them in spring and they played everything about 20% faster than normal, and people were collapsing in big laughing piles because the music was so happy but they couldn't keep up with the speed. Guest marbleman Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 they have a pretty sick (but short) live Quote
Guest koolaid Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 There music is very highly energetic & fast, some of their songs with uplifting not-too-cheesy trance melodies and others being more stomping tunes. A combination between hardhouse, hi-nrg uplifting trance and acid techno. They have about 4 albums out. 3 have an unmixed cd & a live set. The newest one was released recently. I think my fave must be their second one. I've got the latest one but haven't listened to it much as i haven't been in a psycho stomping mood as of late if you like them also check out weirdo's album on tinrib records - it's very good & personally prefer them to lab4. for another really good live fairly underground london act, albeit more trancey - try k90. koolaid Quote
Basilisk Posted October 7, 2002 Posted October 7, 2002 i like weirdo, lab4, and k90 - all good. of note to psy fans... the lab4 ep with candy man and the witch sounded like high energy psytrance to me when i heard it a year ago... i've wanted it ever since! great music... Quote
