Guest FlyingCircus
i have listened to the samples of the new album at psyshop and i really would like to know if anybody needs something like this anymore... i expected it like that but it sounds exactly like the cds i bought from them 6 years ago. evolution seems to be unknown for them. the same sounds, the same melodies etc. and the bad thing about it is that so many people will buy the same thing again and again and again. khogg
Okay, so then don't buy it. Why do you feel the need to spread the negative vibes about it though? What is it to you if someone enjoys something you don't like as long as it doesn't hurt you? It's almost trendy to slag AP. We've heard this all before. This kind of comment is just as tired and used as their "same sounds" and "same melodies" are.
Guest FlyingCircus
i wrote about it because i really like some of their tracks. it's just a disappointment for me that after the great dancing galaxy album they weren't able to evolve their sounds, it's just stagnation now. i don't expect them to do progressive trance, i just would like to hear something a bit different from them. and i also don't have problems with someone else enjoying this music

Tatsu
even if they sound the same like on another world (i haven't heard the samples) at least they don't do the o so trendy full on that is made by a lot of artists these days but still deliver nice melodies. no offense ment to full-on, i also like this style very much but at the moment i'm really in need for some good melodic trance. khogg
Well, fair enough. Say what you will about them now, but these guys have produced some great great music. Their music has that wonderful goa sound and spirit that is so blatantly lacking in much of the music produced today. To each their own I guess. (I am not a "minimal hater" by the way.) I personally don't look for or require constant change from an artist just for the sake of it. Evolution is a natural process. It is a response to conditions that lead to gradual change over time. The fact that they haven't jumped on the minimal bandwagon and still sell albums proves that their sound is not dead yet, at least not for some. In the last few years, I have heard 1 (1!) AP track on the dancefloor. That track was Dancing Galaxy and you should have seen the place (the guy threw it on in the middle of some run-of-the-mill full-on trance). I am willing to bet that most of the poeple there (sadly) had never heard that song, and the place went nuts regardless. AP themselves may not have changed at the heart, and I'm glad because they offer something that no one else seems to really provide anymore (in whatever form)... beautiful unplifiting goa trance. Guest FlyingCircus
i agree with you khogg in, and i wouldn't expect anything else from ap than goa trance, but going on with the same vibe and the same style doesn't necessarily mean to have no new ideas. i really like the older albums, and i surely would buy the new album if it would be the first of ap. Guest JanUa
it's not that they have to make progressive ... it's not that they should loose their melodies and make GMS-like full on ... it's just ... Evolution ... i hope to hear some twisted evolution ... not just in sound but more in structures and brakes and ritms ... that's where everybody can creat distance from other artists and make progression in their own music ... they have to surprise their listeners ... mars
I have this album, i listened to it 2 times. 1 or 2 tracks sound a bit commercial, the rest is great ! Ok it's Astral Projection typical sound but it's refreshing because we're not so used to it and it's unique. I prefer artists to release an album every 3 years than overdozing people with all the time the same shit.
Guest JanUa
i hope at least the mastering is from this year ... i hope there sound is much more professional than the early releases in psytrance ... that's evolution too ... btw, Mars, check your PM @psygarden ... i sended you a messagke
Guest --==1400MiLeS==--
Give the album a try...Productionwise this is crisp and crystalclear...and trax like 'Nexus' and 'Stick and Stones' sound totally unlike early AP (best tracks I heard in a while and I am certainly no fanboy, gave up on them a long ago). Beats easily the tired GMS/AlienP and progressive tribes doing their 'street credible' thinghy imo... 'Amen' is a sweet comeback.
Guest schism
Awesome if you are into this sort of thing! Great for guido club-nights etc... seriously, i like this cd a lot. its a shame if you already had brotherhood beach cause u have half the tracks also anything is possible should have been remixed since its oh so old but still its a very nice cd. maybe album of the year... Guest i mainly like oz trance
some trax sux 3,8,9,10 rest is surprisingly even quite enjoyable!
Guest space^madness
i've listened to this album a few times now. they have the same juicy synthlines with the slowly evolving buildups to climax. it KICKS ASS! tracks like chaos, nexus and 'stick and stones' are amazing. oh yah! if you like earlier work of ap you'll love this one, if you're one of the "astral projection have to evolve, blabla" i guess you should just let this album pass by. right now i love astral projection for staying to their roots, because this sound so incredibly FRESH today. it's like the rainbow explodes over the psytrance-scene. people, we have an album with COLORS&HAPPY FEELINGS here! booooom! Guest schism
i went back and counted, we had 7 of the 10 tracks on the brotherhood beach live set. one of those was released on an ep. and of the 3 new tracks, 2 of them are boring (track 9 is great though). anyway, considering that, i'm already sick of this cd. too bad, i shouldn't have dloaded brotherhood beach but i couldn't wait. therefore i can't really decide how much i like it...but its still great and i know some of u didn't think so but i actually like In Dub- I just expected to be blown away! truth is most of the tracks are "great" but not exceptional. the LSD rmx is very nice tho...and the melodies at the end of tr2 r lovely. the rest = kinda bof. good for chillin, smokin bud, layin in bed with your girl, sleepin during a long train ride (ones where they don't steal your bags) etc.

Guest Hallucinogenious
ok some said AP's sound its bit the same. What about Goa Gil's sound ? Some say that in the Goa Gil's parties the tracks all look the same. 3000bmp but they are good. This duo is also a living-history of trance, even NY-Times had an article for them !;p
Guest Evil Monkey
I dont give a shit about Astral doing the same kind of stuff we are used to. As long as they do it well (better than anyone else) im fine with it. Theres no use to change a style that is as good as theirs... Other ppl can do more progressive, more psy more whatever. Let Astral do their thing... Caus they really are the best at it IMO
Guest Jannick Andersen
Haven't read all the posts here, but would like to write my oppinion, so here goes: I loved the first AP-albums. They're probably the reason that i started listening to psytrance in the first place, and some of the old tracks are still some of my all time favs. I haven't liked their latests releases tho, and for me there is no evolution from "Another World" to "Amen". Sure, the production have gotten better through the years, but that's just enough imho. It's great that somebody like their new music tho, and I'm sure that some of the newer tracks will work like magic to them. But for me the magic is long gone :/ (Sorry for my bad english btw)

Guest 1
Astral Projection is a very good project i hope they NEVER ever change. Comon people there are PLENTY of artists out there. Can't you just LET AP BE AP??? They can't possibly satisfy your every desire!! ...but they satisfy mine =) peace love
