This new review system

I must express my ... dissapointment in this new reivew system. I miss the old version when the Reviews were plentiful and many as well as very up to date with the releases... Now all we have is a bunch of unreviewed albums. I may as well go to psyshop or some other online record store and find out a hell of allot more. This site is becomming useless and obsolete. Without reveiws what use is - psy"news"? Psy and but no longer news???

i think also it is a little useless to post albums that aren't reviewed. but i think it is still better than have all those crappy, useless posts in the reviews section. please people, write more reviews!!

yeah i agree, the amount of reviews is disappointingly low at the moment .. i'll see if i can find some time to do some proper reviews again one of these days .. anyway, i think it would help if there would be a "register" function on the site where you would instantly get a password instead of having to send children an e-mail to get one!

another thing that kinda bothers me is that when you click on "goa reviews" now you only get to see the albums from 2002 and have to click on another button to see all of them .. i think the option to search by year is very nice, but i would prefer to see "any year" as the default setting .. :)

I must say that albums that aren't yet in stores are difficult to review (those on the main page) if you are not part of the promo team or don't have L337 access to a 0day FTP.

Despite the often announced crisis in psy, every time you refresh the psyshop page more new compils emerge with more unknown contributing artists than ever. Its hard to catch up on whats hot or not with such a release spree. I, for example, have never heard about Promon, Eargear, Hopefiend, Suria, Domi Pastor, Initia, Deeper in Zen and Accu. Not the stuff I would immediately grab...

I thinks its a combination of the somehow 'feared' registration and 'vague' releases that the review section isn't what it used to be...

Mars:

The idea of having all that stuff available to see in a profile seems pretty damn sweet! I especially like the fact that there's a place for uploading pictures (I have a terrible memory for names without a pic to go with them) and for ICQ. Can't wait till the new system is ready! (Or, uh, well, actually, I CAN wait, so "I'm really looking forward to Psynews 2!")

i think that it's a shame that we can't read all the crap reviews as we used to be able to--it brought some badly-needed humour to this site, which can take itself far too seriously!

I agree with Rishi (wow, that sounds so weird!). Sometimes I have to use a 56K modem, and it is such a waste of time to have to open 10 links to reviews, only to find out that none have been reviewed.

Rishi<----The other Rishi, that is!
