I just wanna know if anybody has heard anything and if it is gonna go back tot the Classical Mushroom sound or stick with and progress the BP Empire sound (which is the best IMHO)??

I saw IM 3 weeks ago, and they pretty much almost only played new stuff... and let me tell you it's nothing like The Gathering... More along the lines of BP Empire but more melodic/groovy/experimenting.... Kinda hard to describe... I didn't really dig on it, but I'm sure a lot of you guys will...

well, they are constantly changing their style, each new release is something different. but if you want to compare, i expect the first cd on the upcoming album will be more like bp empire than anything else they've released. but what im really looking forward to is the second cd... infected ambient.... oooh... cant wait :)

BPMpire was too generic sounding, the same half baked techno/trance mix every1 was doing...Classical was interesting cause it somehow sounded unqiue...I still don't understand why the BustaMove sound wasn't exploited into new directions...

Well, IM is off my priority list...Although Infected ambient still sounds appetiting...

I still tend to think of IM as one of my favorite bands due to Classical, but I've never purchased BPEmpire, and doubt I will, so if the new album sounds too much like it, I may have to cross them off my favorite list. Shame, really. They had something really unique for a while with Classical...

Common guys, B.P. Empire wasn't that bad. You can't tell me #9. Dancing with Kadafi wasn't one damn orignal song. If thats not unique then I don't know what is. Give IM some credit.

Whoa, hey, I didn't say it was bad...And, in fact, I love Dancing with Kadafi...It's just that it isn't very memorable. It's good for what it is, but is more like a lot of other stuff out there...A little more generic than the older IM.

I wish I had half the talent those guys have...

The way they use it is full of controversy though. I heard their new album has a more progressive sounding... which means less variety in their songs IMHO. That would be a shame, the second cd could be brilliant though...

While B.P. Empire may not be the best album IM have put out it still is a must buy regardless. I don't know if I agree with you bugbread. I can't really think of another group that sounds like B.P. Empire other than maybe Space Cat's Power Up album. I don't see how that makes B.P. Empire generic unless I haven't heard some groups you have.

If BP Empire is generic, I want to hear these other groups that sound like it... I love the BP Empire album. I didn't think Power Up sounded like BP Empire, maybe Beam me Up, which is my favorite Space Cat album.

B.P. Empire is a remarkable album. It is very different, unique, and extremely subtle. It is one of the best albums I own. Classical Mushroom is a remarkable album. The Gathering is a remarkable album. IM is a remarkable group !
